We mailed in our I-130 on August 14, 2009, and had our CR-1 Visa in hand on December 7, 2009 (approved 12/06/09). That's less than four months for the whole process I think, from application to completion. And the whole time everyone here was telling me how everything I was doing was wrong and every interpretation of the law I made was wrong, etc - but I had to have done something right to get this done, particularly in Dubai, UAE. :thumbs:

So here's a warm hug and thanks to everyone who offered sincere advice, empathy, understanding, and support. (L):) You guys are what Visa Journey is all about.

And for those of you who just had to tell me I was wrong or even cruel mean comments here (or even crueler comments on the ex pat forum), this is for you :hehe::no: - because being mean doesn't make you right.

I would be interested to follow the experiences of both past and future CR1 couples in Abu Dhabi. It appears to me that Consular Officers may be ill-informed of immigration rule and law, and that particular consular officers there express personal bias regarding irrelevant issues.

My husband got his visa on the 7th, and is in the USA right now. He'll be in my arms tomorrow! :dance:

Hope all of your loved ones will be in your arms soon, even those of the ex pat posters. Just because you're insensitive doesn't mean I have to be. :P;)
