If she was not arrested of prostitution, she is free of not answering the question if she has been engaged in prostitution.

:bonk:

oh really? if she's never been arrested, in your opinion she can answer no to this question?

Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty or other similar legal action? Have you ever unlawfully distributed or sold a controlled substance(drug), or been a prostitute or procurer for prostitutes?

note that it does not ask if one has been arrested for prostitution. it asks if one has been arrested or convicted of any offense or crime.

the part about having been a prostitute or not is a yes or no, not a maybe only if arrested.

Yes sir, in my opinion....if i have been engaged in a prostitution, and wasn't arrested..then I wouldn't have proofs in NBI or any police records...then I can escape that question easily....(just correct me if imwrong please...hehe)

you'd be wrong to answer it no if you had. and misrepresentation earns a lifetime ban.

I think people do crazy things when they feel they are backed in a corner and need to survive. I can't see faulting someone for doing what they need to do.

That being said, I am squeemish over prostitution. It's just such a dangerous world out there. I would definately have myself tested. And, yes, I think it is a reason they can deny a visa.

I applaud your fiance for having the guts to tell you. Yes, she wasn't forthcoming in the beginning; but she didn't wait till after the green card either. She had to work up her nerve to tell you. The trust should still be there for you. She was very brave and really never had to tell you. She's giving you an out if you want to take it. So, if you do, then take it. But, no one is perfect. And we all have skeletons in our closets.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Yes, i know that sir....but how would they know or what proof?

Sorry for this, coz i don't know where I read it (not in VJ)..but the girl that has been engaged in prostitution denied it because of no proof and been granted visa.

****thank you for the correction

Who knows how they would know. It's not really relevant if it is clear that the embassy would easily uncover this fact on their own. The fact remains that it is the responsibility of the beneficiary to be honest.

Given the fact that Homeland Security monitors forums such as this you probably don't stand a chance of getting her here now anyway. Your avatar appears to be you and probably your user name is also related to your real name.

You should probably just quit now before you subject yourself to further disappointments with her or immigration...

Sound a bit paranoid. Things REALLY aren't this bad. Enjoy life, instead.

Also, its not a legal issue UNTIL you are arrested. Before that its simply a moral issue...

huh? Some context would be nice here since I'm not sure specifically what you are referring to.

Men being men, I'm sure that most of you guys have been to topless and nude bars. So what do you think of the morals of these men?

WOW. First, I have never liked these places or gone to them. The women are trashy, sleezy, and likely need a lot of antibiotics and vaccinations from all the diseases ravaging their silicone filled body. Nothing sexy about that. A poor and dissatisfying fantasy to say the least. It's really offensive that you generalize to all "men being men." Please try to be more considerate in the future. Thanks.

I did qualify my statement with the word "MOST". If you are not like MOST men, then you should not be offended.

I find it strange that you are offended by my post when just yesterday you yourself "happily" confirmed what I said when you posted this:

Climate Change is a hoax, right?

NO wonder the boys are partying it up there. The prosty's are marking the occasion by providing the party boys Free Sex if they produce one of the mayor's warning postcards

Hypocricy much? So I stand by my statement.

Veemer,

If you decided to stay with her there is a legal way to avoid the "Prostitute" question at the Embassy stage...

MARRY HER and apply for CR-1 Visa. The DS-230 doesn't ask that question and as long as she wasn't arrested it shouldn't come up.

I was referencing FoxyBLUE's comment about this issue. If the law is not involved, its a moral issue not a legal one.

I'm pretty sure misrepresentation is a legal issue.
