Remember with the I-864 it is to show who will be financially responsible for the immigrant.

Part 3 is who the person needing to be sponsored or to make it easy the immigrant. It is simple his/her information.

Part 5 is for the immigrant to list their assets as the sponsor did Part 4E. This isn't necessary unless you need their assets to meet the 125% poverty line.

Remember to attach evidence – ie lists, bank statements, copies of life insurance policies…

If your husband is the USC then they are filling it out to show responsibility to take care of you and not be a burden on the US.

Someone just wrote this, you may want to check since you have not filed yet. See thread titled "New I-864 rules"

According to the site, there's new rules regarding the I-864 that took effect on Friday. Most notable to me was:

--Reduces required inital documentation: each sponsor is now required to submit as initial evidence only his or her single most recent tax return.

--Provides mor flexible definition of "household size".

--Reduces the amount of assets that certain sponsors must show in order to cover any shortfall in their household income

It also means new forms have been released. Gah. Now I'm about ready to call an immigration lawyer due to some of these changes. For example, my husband and I are living with my parents while we pay off my student debts, before getting a house. This means that my co-sponsor may or may not be living with us when we interview, so I'm not sure if I should put my parents down as members of the household or not. Also, I don't have the last tax return, but I have almost a year's worth of pay stubs. Gah.
