I don't understand the link from your first statement (i got a RFE for the i-864 because they need 2 separate forms because i have a sponser) and your question (do i need any proof since i never worked and i never filed taxes).

Sounds like they're saying to submit two I-864s. Did you submit one for each of you?

firdaus,

I don't know the answer to your question, but you might try to ask in a separate thread in the AOS forum where more people might be familiar with the answer.

Anyway, we got our NOAs in the mail Monday, so that's 5 days for NOA + another 5 days to get the hard copies. We haven't had much (any) luck in getting the online case status to work so far. :( But my bank account went down by $1010, so I guess we didn't forget any signatures. Anyway, now that we have the notices, when the I-94 expires on the 31st, we should be ok. :)

I was happy to have recieved my NOAs today via mail. Went to the DMV (for the 3rd time) straight away to get my DL. And guess what?????....

I was bloody turned down (as I predicted before)!!! :crying: Now they were asking for an I-130. We explained why I don't have it, but they just didn't understand. My hubby was irrate because they didn't give us the correct info right from the start.

I guess I'm gonna have to sit here for another 3 months til I get my EAD.

Hi firdaus, I'm an October filer but I thought I might be able to help you out with this question if you still needed it. The RFE means that you should have sent an additional form I-864 for the person who is co-sponsoring. The person who is petitioning for you is always the primary sponsor (say, your spouse, parents..whoever filed form I-130 for you) but if you needed an additional sponsor for income purposes then they also needed to fill out an I-864. Does this make sense? If you give me more details to your case then I might be able to help more. Good luck!

Your sponsor needs to fill form I864A. See the instructions for the form as it says below:

Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, is an attachment to Form I-864, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the Immigration and Nationality Act. It is an optional form, completed and signed by two individuals: a sponsor who is completing Form I-864, and a household member who is promising to make his or her income and/or assets available to the sponsor to help support the sponsored immigrant(s). The combined signing of this form constitutes an agreement that the household member is responsible along with the sponsor for the support of the individual(s) named in this form. A separate Form I-864A must be used for each household member whose income and/or assets are being used by a sponsor to qualify.

--

Form I-864A may only be used when a sponsor's income and assets do not meet the income requirements of Form I-864 and the qualifying household member chooses to combine his or her resources with the income and/or assets of a sponsor to meet the requirements.

Hey, guys.

I'm away from home visiting my family right now, but I called a friend to check our mailbox for our NOA1's. She called and said that we received a letter from DHS that was an NOA but said that it was for receipt of both our I-485 and for the EAD (we didn't apply for AP). I'm wondering why I only had one NOA1 and not separate NOA1's like everyone else. Also, the number started with "MSC" which isn't one of the options, I thought, for the receipt numbers....I'm not sure and I'm kind of worried about it. I can't see the status online which worries me more....
