FYI: Your case might have been worked on.... there is this colloquial term called "touch" which means that the case has been updated....or that someone at least looked at your case.... you can check this by going into your account at the USCIS website and go to your portfolio, and you'll see the date of last update...

Please update your timeline....

Actually that might not be true, my case in point.. 1) Lots of touches ==> zero effect; 2) got a touch on AP same day I got my EAD approved (believe that my AP did get approved but they forgot to change my status); 3) repetitive changes in status about my case being transferred to CSC...what the heck?? Personally, I wouldn't rely so much on the touches at this point...

I am not sure if I understand correctly, but my suggestion is:

1) Check the USCIS website using your case number (for the one that belongs to the AOS, because if you received the other two EAD and AP and those case numbers are no good for your quest of info about your AOS)....your case should be something like EACXXXXXXXXXX (total of 13 characters, the X are numeric characters). If the website shows the same basic case info : your case has been received, bla bla bla..., then you need to make an appointment with your local USCIS office using Infopass) and take all your paperwork with you and ask an immigration officer why you have not heard about them.

2) If your case is not shown on the website, call the USCIS phone number for customer service: Once you call 1 (800) 375-5283, press the following keys:

- 1

- 2

- 3

after pressing those numbers in that order with 1 or two second in between them, it will get you to an operator that is going to ask you some questions... and that person will ask you the case number which after giving it they well see that they do not have the case info either.... the 1st level customer service reps only see what you can see form the website.... so they will tell you that you are going to get transfered to a higher level customer service rep, who is actually an immigration officer, and that person will have for sure your case info...

Now, keep the following in mind.. the offer of getting transfered to a second level rep, has to be given by the rep not rquested by you, because most of the time they will not transfer you.... Also, this only works if the case is not online... meaning on the website you had access to.... if the case is shown on the website just follow the instructions above because the customer seervice rep will not have more info...

I hope this help in your quest to find info about your case...

Regards

TEMP

First of all, Thanx for answering.

My uscis website status says, my case as been transferred to CSC, for which I got notice of approval in jan end. So no new info there. I subscribed to uscis case status online on 24th feb, 10. But never got any email/sms about any update ever.

I tried calling. I DON'T know how to tell them the receipt no. e.g. as u said, EACXXXXXXXXXX..Numerical part i give, but how do u tell them EAC part?

I have already taken infopass appointment. What should i take along?

Thanx for helping once again.

RoyalT,

When telephoning USCIS : the first 3 letters on your case numbers are represented by numbers that are on the touch pad of your phone.

For example MSCxxxxxxxxxx M=6, S=7, C=2 . THerefore enter 672 following the numbers.

But as far as I know, it's an automated massage that would be similar to what you see on your online status.

That's why as why eltemp suggested speaking to an operator. . Maybe they could be of more help (but then again they may not be).

Hope this helps.

Good to know RoyaleT.....

Now here is another advice... after the so called "regular" time frame goes by you can contact the Service Center itself..... so I would suggest checking the estimated time line for the particular service center, I think you mentioned in your case was in California, and then see how long it has been since your case was transfered, remember cases are not always worked as per received basis (regardless of what the people at USCIS tell you), those are estimates based on average cases and statistical data (mean, median, etc). So in simpler terms...lets say your case was submitted Jan 29th, 2010... and they are processing Jan 30th or later then... call them and tell them they are over their regular timeframe....

Now, since you have done and infopass you just need to take all the letters you've received and documents that you consider pertinent to make sure they have all the information they might ask, so that they can inform you best....goodluck and hopefully you can solve this ASAP....
