Good an bad news all at once today.....

Online update suddenly changed to "On January 12th, we sent an RFE..." It's so behind the times! But now concerned that something may have happened (again). And of course, we'd just gotten confident and canceled next Monday's INFOPASS. ARGH.

The good news was that simultaneously they emailed to say that card production on the EAD was ordered! That one was sent Jan 28 and said "On January 28, we ordered the production of your card" so...I guess our biggest concern (for now) is that he can start working. I mean we aren't about to be broke if he has to go a couple more weeks, but more money is always good.

Hi all,

Dec filer too...waiting like the rest of you here.

Although we have made it to EAD card production without RFE, can't still be confident as more than half of the posters in this thread got the RFE for I-693.

So like some of you, getting the mail is a dreadful and exciting part (hoping its not an RFE and wishing its the EAD card/interview appointment).

Goodluck to all of us!

Hi guys,

we are December filers, too. and of course we were the lucky ones to get an RFE for the medical. Funny thing about it is that at my Point of Entry (JFK) the officer took all the documents, opened the sealed envelope with my medicals to compare it with another copy of the medicals (YES, they really had 2!!) and gave one back to me... so what we did was copying the medical results, including a letter why we have this copy and sending them back to USCIS. Nothing happened yet, except for that they got our RFE response and that its gonna be processed at NBC now.

So does that mean, we made it with this information or is it still possible that we get another RFE? The last thing I will do is to make another medical. it was so evasive and disgusting, I wont go through this torture again. We will definitely contact a congressman if this is the case.

Congratulations on all the progress, everyone!!!!

Last night, they checked my husband's skin test which, of course was positive (he had the BCG vaccine when he was about 10 years old). The nurse who administered the test told us to expect a positive reaction, but that nurse wasn't there last night. The woman who checked it immediately freaked out and ran to get a doctor. I understand that they have to report a positive result to the Health Department, but it was so dramatic. We were put in isolation, wore masks---the whole deal. They did an emergency chest x-ray (amazing how fast people move when they think there is a case of TB in the hospital  ) The x-ray was negative (as we predicted), but they told my husband to stay in isolation (i.e. our apartment) until the state epidemiologist confirmed the negative chest x-ray. They called last night and told me that they strongly recommend me getting a test because I had traveled "in a third world country." So....slow moving here, it looks like. Hopefully this will all get cleared up before our appointment with the CS.
