Wis-Can, your conversation with that woman sounds SO frustrating. I see why you'd drive to someone who made more sense.

Would an infopass work? I've read here that it may be better to talk to someone from USCIS face to face regarding your case.

I decided also to do this - the earliest we can get in is Feb 1. I guess since we have nearly until April to respond that I'm not too worried. Just seems like delay after delay...But Nik is as resistant to getting an extra unnecessary medical as I am, so at least we are united in our disgust. :D

So, I found a doctor who does the medical for a reasonable price $100, but they want him to do the TB skin test, the HIV test, and a syphilis test prior to the medical. They said that they needed to be done from within the US within the past year-no foreign tests accepted.

Yes on the TB skin Test, yes on the syphillis, but you don't need the HIV test anymore as of Jan 4th I think it is. Just print off the CDC immgration notice on their website to give to the CS. I asked my CS if they are notified of changes in the medical requirements and he told me no. Its up to them to keep themselves updated. And as you can imagine, they are extremely busy and really don't have time to check with website daily for changes.

Also-she said the only shots we needed were the MMR, Tetanus, and Viracella (sp?). I think that's right, but I wanted to double check with all the experts on VJ first :D

If you had chickenpox, you don't need the varicella vaccine.

Case arrived at CSC today.

Just so everyone knows, I got the Medical RFE, even though I did the 3 parts of the form and had it all signed by a civil surgeon. (I didn't just toss the vaccination form in there).

When I got the RFE, I wanted to go with the quickest, least friction-inducing, least stressful method possible, so I just paid $120 and had the same civil surgeon do the full I-693 and re-sent that as the RFE reply. My case seems to have been moving swiftly since then.

Hey everyone! The USCIS website shows that our I-485 was updated with the following message

" On January 20, 2010, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

Does this mean that our case will not be transferred to CSC?:unsure:

Yes, I know, and I am so torn about that - but paying out AGAIN for something we shouldn't need just seems so wrong, we just can't bring ourselves to do it. :(

I don't get it...I'm done with my biometrics last January 19 but none of my cases have been touched since then. I'm looking at most people's timelines here and they got touched after biometrics, isn't that always the case?

Also. those who already know that your EAD has been ordered, how did you know it? Did they send you a mail or an e-mail? I didn't subscribe to any e-mail notification, how will I know if mine has been ordered or not?

Thanks!
