i honestly don't think palin cares about running for any office anymore. i don't think that is her goal, these days, her goal is simply to take advantage of the limelight for the good of her family (bank the bucks). i see her as a future pundit on fox or maybe her own radio show .... i think money is more important to her than power.

i think there is a difference in the power and money between oprah, tiger, bill gates, warren b and presidents. money that these folks have won't send troops anywhere, won't get the CIA or FBI or the dept. of justice to act on much of anything... etc. etc.

I don't know about where you live, but here in Colorado, the most influential think tank and movements are funded by individuals with beaucoup bucks and kick azz political agendas. Their money and power is a major reason why Colorado went from red to blue. Money hires lobbyists.

What relation does the book have to the tragedy and why try to associate the two via donation. Palin is a wealthy woman so why not just make a private donation?

When people call crimes "tragedies" it makes it sound like it was just some unfortunate thing that happened to have occured. When a straight-A student gets ran over by a bus, that's a tragedy.

When people are killed by a criminal, that's a horrible and dispicable act - but it's not a tragedy. It's a crime.

She may not care, but when the Republicans are drawing at straws in 2011, they're going to have about one name to choose from. She'll go all the way to the debates saying, "Keep in mind, I didn't want this.... but my country called upon me to do something." If people are still not satisfied with Obama's "change" then it'll work hook, line and sinker.
