Hello All:

I recently received the Notice of action extending my spouse's CR1 visa for extending status for one year after filing I-751. However the recipet number that i got is not being found by the USCIS website every time i check the status of the case. Does it take some time before the website recognizes it or should it occur right away? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you enter the number correctly. letters and numbers only, no spaces, no hyphens

The numbers are entered exactly as they appear on the NOA

For Removing/Lifting of Conditions (I-751) - the receipt number on the first Notice of Action (NOA1) is not the number you would use to track your case (or if you needed to call USCIS). The correct number will be on the Biometrics Appointment notice (which will be a different receipt/case number). Why this is, I don't know - it just is. (Obviously you want to keep the NOA1 since it does prove your PR/Green Card status has been extended one year.)

Also - often once you have the biometrics notice (and receipt/case number), online tracking sometimes doesn't show up until after the appointment is complete (not always, but often this is the case). Hope this helps alleviate some nerves..

** Topic is "Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion" related; moving thread there.
