I looked on the ICBC website and it appears if I take my California license up, I can trade it straight across for a Class 4 license. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Is a road or written test required? I just like to confirm this with you all first because typically VJers know more than customer service with these agencies.

Thanks!

Depends on how long you've had your license and if your state shares that info with other states/countries. Apparently some don't. Missouri is one. My finace had to get a letter from the DV in Missouri stating he had his license for X number of years before he could get a full license in Ontario. It took FOREVER and MANY MANY phones calls to finally get this letter. I suggest doing that before you leave California. Also when he did get it they forgot to add that he also had a class M license so he couldn't get it in Ontario without having to start with a learners which means you can't drive before dawn or after dusk type thing. It was a huge pain just getting the first letter so he never bothered....didn't have a motorcycle there anyways. Missouri had a form on their site that you fill out to request this information.
