This confirms what I always knew. It's a disease that started in the blue states and is moving to infect the red states.

AJ - I'm at work and can't blow open all kinds of windows to surf - but did you see the link I posted a couple of weeks ago to the US Department of Labor report for October?

There was a section of the report that gave stats for the number of persons drawing extended UI benefits. I can't remeber the exact number, but in October 08 it was around 700,000 people. In October 09 it was over 3 million. IMO that kind of information is even scarier than your map, which takes into account only those persons still reporting to the Unemployment office. There are many persons who have stopped drawing benefits and are no longer counted.
