Update:

I called Banco Helm in Bogota and after talking to two people one lady who understood that w still need DS-156 for K1 visa. So if you call them ask to speak to someone who works in Visas de Americas. I asked her to call the Banco Helm in my fiance city and explain to them that she needs it and that sheis coming today. I gave them her full name.

(They only speak spanish, but assuming everyone who's fiancee lives in Colombia speaks spanish also)

It worked, so when she went to the bank she didn't have any problems. But they told her that she can't pay for the visa until she has packet 4. The appointment letter.

I know they thought I was being a hardball but to me, if the documents still says fill out DS-156. I felt like that is what we should fill out even if the rules has changed. at least until they update the forms .

Thanks for the info!! It would be really nice if the embassy and Banco Helm would communicate better. Every person that goes to a Banco Helm branch has a different story. I wish that Banco Helm was more consistent with their policies at each branch. I guess we'll fill out a DS-156 and DS-160 just to be safe.

C'mon Banco Helm, train your personnel properly.

Your so right, believe it or not packet 4 actually arrived today. So tommorow she will make her 3rd trip to the Bank. Hopefully three times is a charm. I wouldn't be surpised if they say to her tomorrow" we have never heard of the embassy".lol

For statistical purposes, I want to report that Cary's visa was approved.

I don't have any details, I just got a text, she thinks that 75 cents an hour is outrageous to pay for computer time.

She says she will have the visa in 10 days.

Of course if there is any additional information that may be helpful I will pass it on to everyone.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask where can i track the NVC progress?? Case was approved back in April and still haven't gotten any word in the mail about NVC receiving my petition.

aah, never mind called the NVC and they gave all the info. May 3rd sent to Islamabad!

Yes I have booked mine there too, the other apartment was booked through the summer. But I will be there from June 8-18. The hotels down there are very expensive. We actually can cross paths down there.

Hi,

I have not read anywhere about a fee for the DS-156K. We paid today for the visas with the forms DS-156.

Is there a fee for the DS-156K? I know we are suppose to take it with us to the interview.

I personally don't think so , but she wants me to ask. It doesn't hurt to be sure.
