I found info about the DS-160 form on the DOS website. Here is the link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_4230.html

"The U.S. Embassy and Consulates listed below require nonimmigrant visa applicants (excluding K-1/2 fiancee and E-1/2 Treaty Trader visa classes) to use the new Online DS-160. Review this important guidance:"

Colombia is on the list, but according to the previous quote, K-1/2 fiancee visas are excluded. I am going to print this page and take to the bank when we pay the visa fee.

Hi, and thanks for the response Mark and Carol. I called the bank today and explained it to them and they told me the same thing , but when I explained it is a different type of visa and what the embassy needs then they transferred me to someone else. The next person understood and told me that she does need DS-156. She said tell her to say K-1 visa when she enters the bank , take her passport, cedulas , 2 copies of the forms. The fee still has not changed so we plan to pay on Monday.

Hsve a great day!

Great, thanks for the info...all of the available documentation about the visa process is very confusing. I have to read it several times and sometimes I still don't understand. Thankfully we have many knowledgeable VJ members.

I love the first day of every month because I check Igor's list and feel like I've moved leaps and bounds closer to the goal.

Congrats to all December filers for moving up the list. Monday I will start my phone calls to ask USCIS why it has been 5 months and no response. If anyone else starts calling, let me know if you get anywhere. Thanks!

Wow, Raimey... You got a touch... That is great!

How did it go with calling the USCIS today? Any news?

On our end, nothing yet... We will have to wait until the 28th until we can start calling.

STILL WAITING

Dec. 28, 2009... NOA 1

Dec. 31, 2009... Touched

May 12, 2010... Nice guy at the USCIS mercifully sent a Service Request to the VSC to inquire about our petition

May 27, 2010... Received an e-mail stating that the VSC received the Service Request. Unfortunately, the e-mail also states that the processing time for service requests is 3 MONTHS!!

June 28, 2010... Heard from my senator that the USCIS is going to send me a RFE on July 1 asking for a certified copy of my birth certificate. Why do they have to wait until July 1 to ask for this??

July 13, 2010... Received an e-mail from the VSC explaining the delay in processing our petition. Apparently, the USCIS had put on hold all petitions from US citizens born with Puerto Rican birth certificates (like me). On July 1, USCIS headquarters finally gave clearance for these petitions to be processed.

July 26, 2010... Touch

July 27, 2010... Received text message and e-mail stating that our petition was approved on July 26!! We finally received our NOA 2!!

July 31, 2010... NVC received our approved petition

August 2, 2010... Received paper copy of our NOA2

August 4, 2010... Received letter from NVC confirming receipt of our approved petition

August 13, 2010... US embassy in Brazil received the approved petition

August 23, 2010... Missuzu received Packet 3/4

October 19, 2010... Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

November 4, 2010... Missuzu received her passport with visa

December 27, 2010... POE... Houston, Texas

December 28, 2010... We got married!

Go there with the DS-156 and if they want you to re-do it they will provide you with the Ds-160 form at the bank just copy all the info and they will process it... Nothing to worry about. If they do not have the forms there they will download it for a small fee and print it out for you right there. Everything can be solved in Colombia for a fee...

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Colombia
Timeline

Hi to all and congratulations to all!

Update:

I called Banco Helm in Bogota and after talking to two people one lady who understood that w still need DS-156 for K1 visa. So if you call them ask to speak to someone who works in Visas de Americas. I asked her to call the Banco Helm in my fiance city and explain to them that she needs it and that sheis coming today. I gave them her full name.

(They only speak spanish, but assuming everyone who's fiancee lives in Colombia speaks spanish also)

It worked, so when she went to the bank she didn't have any problems. But they told her that she can't pay for the visa until she has packet 4. The appointment letter.

I know they thought I was being a hardball but to me, if the documents still says fill out DS-156. I felt like that is what we should fill out even if the rules has changed. at least until they update the forms .
