Congratulations !!!!! Cary's interview is May 6th. I am not anticipating any issues, she could pass for Mother Theresa. I am not sure when I will be going to get her yet, but it will be May. Let me know when Karen gets the visa in hand, that may help my planning. Again congratulations.

Hi agquarters! Just wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat as you. There are still a few of us December filers waiting to hear. I know the anxiety you are feeling; patience is not my strong suit. My fiance is the least anxious person in the world, and even he is full of anxiety. Good luck with the waiting game. Let us know if you find a miracle way to get an answer. I will do the same vice versa.

RaimeyHoney... Thanks for the response... Please don't take it personal, but it is good to see that I am not the only one going through this agony... It seems like everyone else on here is having their interviews already... It hurts! (Although I am very happy to see all you guys that have made it through... I hope to join y'all soon!)

At any rate, it is good to see that I am not alone. At least it makes me feel that maybe it is not because there is something wrong... We just got unlucky.

I will definitely keep you updated with my progress (or lack there of)... You do the same, please... Maybe we can help each other get through this terrible wait.

Good luck!

Dec. 28, 2009... NOA 1

Dec. 31, 2009... Touched

May 12, 2010... Nice guy at the USCIS mercifully sent a Service Request to the VSC to inquire about our petition

May 27, 2010... Received an e-mail stating that the VSC received the Service Request. Unfortunately, the e-mail also states that the processing time for service requests is 3 MONTHS!!

June 28, 2010... Heard from my senator that the USCIS is going to send me a RFE on July 1 asking for a certified copy of my birth certificate. Why do they have to wait until July 1 to ask for this??

July 13, 2010... Received an e-mail from the VSC explaining the delay in processing our petition. Apparently, the USCIS had put on hold all petitions from US citizens born with Puerto Rican birth certificates (like me). On July 1, USCIS headquarters finally gave clearance for these petitions to be processed.

July 26, 2010... Touch

July 27, 2010... Received text message and e-mail stating that our petition was approved on July 26!! We finally received our NOA 2!!

July 31, 2010... NVC received our approved petition

August 2, 2010... Received paper copy of our NOA2

August 4, 2010... Received letter from NVC confirming receipt of our approved petition

August 13, 2010... US embassy in Brazil received the approved petition

August 23, 2010... Missuzu received Packet 3/4

October 19, 2010... Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

November 4, 2010... Missuzu received her passport with visa

December 27, 2010... POE... Houston, Texas

December 28, 2010... We got married!

Our story is similar to Jared and May. Even though Karen passed her interview, we have to wait more than a month because I have to attend a scientific conference! :( Really bad timing for that since we've been apart for more than a year!

Sorry you're stuck in limbo, but I'm sure your case will move soon! Just be sure to have all your papers ready (including your affidavit of support), so you can move quickly as soon as the USCIS accepts your petition! We were able to schedule Karen's interview a little more than a month after the NOA2, so it's certainly possible to move quick, even after a long wait!

Let us know when you get any progress! I am so thankful this process moved quickly after trudging along slowly for so long! Especially since so much of it seems to be luck! Hang in there!

Thanks! Karen's interview was really smooth and her consulate officer asked really easy questions! I hope your experience is the same! I'll be sure to let you know when she gets the visa. I think I can start tracking it soon!

I forgot to ask -- do you know how to check for touches on the USCIS Web site? It might be a good idea to check!

First of all, thanks for the encouragement... We appreciate the support, especially when it comes from others who have gone/are going through the same stress.

To answers a couple of your questions...

  • We already have prepared all the forms (plus supporting documentation) needed for the interview, including the I-134... The only things we still need are the police certificates and the medical
  • I check the USCIS webpage every day, including logging in to check the "last touched" date... I also signed up for text message and e-mail updates.

So basically, I think we are ready for the next step... I just wish that the USCIS would let us take it.

We'll keep you guys updated.

Again... Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks Vera!... And congratulations on scheduling your interview... Good Luck!

Dec. 28, 2009... NOA 1

Dec. 31, 2009... Touched

May 12, 2010... Nice guy at the USCIS mercifully sent a Service Request to the VSC to inquire about our petition

May 27, 2010... Received an e-mail stating that the VSC received the Service Request. Unfortunately, the e-mail also states that the processing time for service requests is 3 MONTHS!!

June 28, 2010... Heard from my senator that the USCIS is going to send me a RFE on July 1 asking for a certified copy of my birth certificate. Why do they have to wait until July 1 to ask for this??

July 13, 2010... Received an e-mail from the VSC explaining the delay in processing our petition. Apparently, the USCIS had put on hold all petitions from US citizens born with Puerto Rican birth certificates (like me). On July 1, USCIS headquarters finally gave clearance for these petitions to be processed.

July 26, 2010... Touch

July 27, 2010... Received text message and e-mail stating that our petition was approved on July 26!! We finally received our NOA 2!!

July 31, 2010... NVC received our approved petition

August 2, 2010... Received paper copy of our NOA2

August 4, 2010... Received letter from NVC confirming receipt of our approved petition

August 13, 2010... US embassy in Brazil received the approved petition

August 23, 2010... Missuzu received Packet 3/4

October 19, 2010... Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

November 4, 2010... Missuzu received her passport with visa

December 27, 2010... POE... Houston, Texas

December 28, 2010... We got married!
