Hey everyone:

We had something odd (but good) happen. My fiance opened the mail in our London flat and Packet 3 was there! We thought we were at the stage of waiting for an NOA2 but obviously it was approved and sent to London via the NVC with no electronic or letter notification. So we are about a month further ahead than we thought we were.

Anyone have any idea how long (ballpark) it takes to get from Packet 3 return to interview in London? We are planning a wedding for 23 July in the USA.

Congrats on receiving your NOA2!

Great news, my advice would be go ahead and get the medical booked asap, I had mine in London yesterday and was pretty straight forward...from what i have seen it takes 60 plus does from sending back packet three to interview and thats on the fast side, london are known for being slow so its all a matter or waiting and make sure you have everything ready, as well as putting the dates on the checklist. Good luck and hope you get that july wedding you want :)

Sorry to hear that...the months seem to be going so fast now that a few weeks wont hurt, i have resided myself to knowing I wont interview before June so am now looking forward to a november wedding as well as seeing the SO in June, even if its just for 2 weeks

Hi, Mark and Carol. Don't worry it's just the preliminary list. There is still a chance to get an interview for May. We sent packet three on the 13th of April and they received it on the 13th of April. I was told that the interview should be in May. If not I am going to be a little sad, but on the bright side it will give me more time to save up money. I just want this date I can pay the visas fee before they change. Also it will bring us back together again.

I still have my fingers crossed. I have been calling DOS everyday to see if there is an update. Hopefully they update it very soon. I think if there is another update for this month we will have our interviews in May. My numbers is barely off the last numbers on the appointment sheet.

Good luck and God bless!

Jenine,

Thanks for your comments. I was pretty bummed out yesterday, but I feel better today.

jj7000,

Thanks for your positive comments. I think 5/27 is full and the 28th & 31st are holidays...so I'm not as optimistic as you. I read that the cutoff is the 20th of each month. I truly hope that I am wrong, but if not I can wait 1-2 more weeks.

Mark,

I just had a look at the schedule myself and Maria and I are on the very last page. We just made it and were given our appointment date on April 1st.

This gives you a little more time than I had to get all your vaccines in order. Get that Medical scheduled ASAP when you have a interview date. The slots fill up fast as a poster in Colombia Club said a few weeks ago.. They were 100% correct about that.

Hi everyone,

Is there a reason some of these embassies take so much time to finish the visa process? I am sad for all who seem to have had an extraordinary time getting their NOA 2's and now some number of months getting an interview. At this point I don't think I could visit Cary knowing the other thing holding us up from being together permanently was the interview. I admire everyone's patience, I know I don't have that much. When I called to schedule Cary's interview on April 14th, I could have had any day I wanted beginning April 27th through May. I have always assumed that more people had fiancees there then any place else on earth. There seemed to be many attorneys and service providers that catered specifically to the Philippines.

On a personal note, Cary completed and passed the physical today. Her interview is scheduled for May 6. Does anyone know any way of speeding up the delivery of the visa? They use a fedex type service called Air 21, I think I read it takes 7 to 10 business days for delivery. I feel very fortunate to have filed my visa application in December, we seem to have an inordinate number of people who are incredibly knowledgeable about this process and are so willing to share all with the rest of us. We seem to be the most active group looking at our page count versus other similar topic page counts. Again, thanks and good luck to all.

:crying: :crying: :crying: we still don't have noa2 yet since hubby sent the rfe :crying: :crying: :crying:anyone have idea when it will be? :help: :help: :help:

Our NOA 1 was dated December 28... Same as yours... And to this date, we still don´t have our NOA 2... Not even a touch (or an RFE)...

I wish there was something I could do... I tried calling, but got the canned response saying that I have to wait until after the 5 months passed. I also sent an e-mail to my congressman, and got another canned response saying they will reply in a few weeks.

Right now, we feel helpless... And we can´t help to think that there is something wrong.

Could they have found something wrong with our application? Even if we have not received any RFEs and we haven´t had any touches since December 31 (3 days after the NOA 1 date)?

What could be going on?

Dec. 28, 2009... NOA 1

Dec. 31, 2009... Touched

May 12, 2010... Nice guy at the USCIS mercifully sent a Service Request to the VSC to inquire about our petition

May 27, 2010... Received an e-mail stating that the VSC received the Service Request. Unfortunately, the e-mail also states that the processing time for service requests is 3 MONTHS!!

June 28, 2010... Heard from my senator that the USCIS is going to send me a RFE on July 1 asking for a certified copy of my birth certificate. Why do they have to wait until July 1 to ask for this??

July 13, 2010... Received an e-mail from the VSC explaining the delay in processing our petition. Apparently, the USCIS had put on hold all petitions from US citizens born with Puerto Rican birth certificates (like me). On July 1, USCIS headquarters finally gave clearance for these petitions to be processed.

July 26, 2010... Touch

July 27, 2010... Received text message and e-mail stating that our petition was approved on July 26!! We finally received our NOA 2!!

July 31, 2010... NVC received our approved petition

August 2, 2010... Received paper copy of our NOA2

August 4, 2010... Received letter from NVC confirming receipt of our approved petition

August 13, 2010... US embassy in Brazil received the approved petition

August 23, 2010... Missuzu received Packet 3/4

October 19, 2010... Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

November 4, 2010... Missuzu received her passport with visa

December 27, 2010... POE... Houston, Texas

December 28, 2010... We got married!

Cary & Jim -

For us it was 2 days from when the embassy mails the visa to when we received it. Milagros lives in Davao City..

Good luck and God Bless!

-Jared

Cary lives in Lapu-Lapu City, not to far from Cebu. I heard of Davao City, not sure where that is in relation to Manila or Cebu. Today I received a letter at my home addressed to Cary, originating from zip code 20166, with a return address for the Manila Embassy informing Cary that she is eligible for an interview. It appears to be a form letter except for her name, MNL number and type of visa.

That is a really cute pic of May holding the passport. Congratulations to you again, when are you leaving for your visit?
