Jared, Good luck with the interview...:thumbs::thumbs: Your's really moved Fasttttt

Mark ,I posted a question for you in CC2 forum..

Drew,

When Maria calls one of the doctors in Bogota, they will ask her for her interview date. They will then schedule the exam for 2-3 days prior to the interview. Since your interview is on a Wed., they will probably schedule the exam on Mon. According to Diana, you can pay for the visa now.

Glad to hear that she got her passport. I think it says in the P3 or P4 instructions that you can still go to the exam without the appointment letter.

I asked the folks at the DoS about a week ago, and all they could tell me was that it hadn't changed, it would sometime in the future, but they couldn't tell me when.

Megan,

You are correct...it's still $131. The government gave everyone the opportunity to comment on the fee increase. They are now in conference trying to decide whether to increase or not. They will probably increase the fee after their discussions...whenever that will be?

Good luck with your fiance's interview on the 14th!

Yeah, it's way sketchy, though, as in the literature they sent him with the P3 it listed the $350 price, and at the place where he's meant to pay the fee (post shop, in advance) they tell him the $131. Maybe it's just the consulate in Auckland, but since our packet was forwarded there, they've given us wrong or conflicting info on at least two occasions. So, I guess, make sure y'all do the legwork and don't just believe what the consulate sketch-bots tell you...

Thanks for the good luck wishes! Can hardly believe it's actually happening... Hope they like the info I sent over there!

at least in brazil this is how it works: anyone who goes to US consulate for any kind of visa (k1, k3, b2, h2b, j1...), first you go to citi bank and pay the $131 fee to shcedule ur interview. Once you go to interview there are some visas that u need to pay once u are approved, but some are for free. for example b2 (tourist) is for free, J1(student) cost $40, and so on. On US consulate website in brazil it says that they want to charge for k1 visas (right now for free) $350. They are not charging this fee yet but i have no idea when it will start. Hopefully after i get my k1 cause this process is way expensive already.

Hi,

Panamajack or anyone else who has sent off the paperwork to get an interview. I know that my case is in Bogota electronically. I got the impression from the operator that I can fax in the forms to get an interview. I noticed that on your timeline in like two days the embassy received. Was that electronically?

We are trying to get an interview in May if it is possible. We would like to FAX the papers before the middle of the month.

Do not wait for your fiancee to receive the Packet 3, because she may never receive it. The embassy sent the Packet 3 to Carol on 3/25 and she still has not received. The mail system in Colombia SUCKS!! Have your finacee fill out the P3, print it, and fax...it will save a lot of time.

Hi Everyone,

I got my notice from NVC today that my file has been sent to Manila as of April 2nd, that I got by calling them thanks to Jared, I think. Also again, I think thanks to Jared, I have another number to call tomorrow. The number I have is 202-663-1225. I should be able to learn if Manila has received my file and if packet 3 has been mailed to Cary. I am a little confused about packet 3. I think someone said the Manila embassy doesn't require a packet 3. I know I do have to complete an Affidavit of Support. Anything else connected with packet 3? In the NVC letter they provided a link to check for information, within that link was another link that took me to the Manila web site. Within that link was another link to check visa interview appointments. When I typed in my number, it gave me a message that the case number was not found. Does that mean our file has been processed in at Manila yet? Or it will just confirm an appointment when we have confirmed an interview date? When should I schedule the interview? I am pretty shore she can just go to the medical center any time for the physical. I hope I don't need anymore answers. I have also been supplied with many links, thanks to Mark and Carol. And of course, timely information from the Captain as well. To all thank you very much for your time and attention to my journey as well as the other visa seekers' journeys. I think for most of us we have a certain sense of this finally coming to a succcessful outcome.

Cary and Jim

Also, send your fiance(e) off to St Luke's for the medical now... Again it just requires the MNL #, and then you're in really good shape.

Are you sure all my fiancee needs is the MNL# ? Do I need to send her a copy of the NOA2 or the NVC paper in which she was assigned an MNL# ?

Also again, I think thanks to Jared, I have another number to call tomorrow. The number I have is 202-663-1225.

The number I have for the U.S. Embassy in Manila is +63 2 301 2000. But Friday, April 9th is a Philippine holiday called "Araw ng Kagitingan," and no one will answer the phone at the embassy. I am in the same boat as you, so we will have to wait until Monday to call. I advise to call between the hours of 8 and 10 a.m. Manila time, since a U.S. Embassy recording said they only answer non-immigrant visa questions during that time period.

I should be able to learn if Manila has received my file and if packet 3 has been mailed to Cary. I am a little confused about packet 3. I think someone said the Manila embassy doesn't require a packet 3.

Apparently, the Philippines does not issue a Packet 3, but here is the online version of Packet 4. Someone on here said that Manila doesn't mail this Packet out any more, so you can download this version and/or print it out. I assume Manila still mails confirmation of receiving the visa petition from the NVC.
