My fiance just called NVC, they gave us our new case number but instead of Manila they gave us Hong Kong number maybe because they saw that I work in Macau which is very near Hong Kong. They said they already sent the papers to HK April 2 and it's out of their hands already. What do we do? I am planning to have my medical in Manila next week as I will be heading back to the Philippines but without the Manila case number there is no way I can do this. It's pretty messed up and frustrating that they did this when my fiance specifically stated that the consulate should be in Manila. Don't know what to do.

Met online in 2002 as friends. Fell in love in 2005. Got engaged in 2010.

K-1 Journey, January 2010-July 2010:

NOA1: January 29. RFE: April 21. NOA2: June 4. Interview: July 15. Visa in hand: July 20. POE: July 22.

July 24, 2010: Married in front of 150 of our loved ones on a beautiful, sunny day. Living happily ever after and oh so thankful that 5 years of a long distance relationship and 7 months of a visa process is condensed into one line.

Adjustment of Status Journey, January 2011-March 2011:

January 25: NOA1 for AOS and EAD. Feb 5: Bio appointment received. Feb 7: RFE. Feb 11: Sent RFE response. Feb 23: AOS transfered to CSC. Feb 25: Biometrics. March 11: EAD approved! March 19: Received EAD. March 21: AOS approved! March 25: GC in hand!

And we'll live happily ever after.. for the next 2 years, anyway.

Just out of curiosity, how are the interviews scheduled, anyway? Do they only have certain days and times open for interviews and do you have to work around that schedule or is it whenever's most convenient for you? Are all embassies different? I'm super happy things are going so smoothly for you now, it seems like not long ago you got your NOA2.. very, very happy for you, cap'n!

EVERY consulate is different and has its own quirks.

Kiev lets the applicant (or USC) schedule the interview. When I called I was actually offered 13th (first day available). After that any day was up for grabs. 19th just worked better for me since I'll be going over there and coming back with my girl after the visa is in hand. I had planned to be at the interview from way before we even filed for our petition.

I'm sure your consulate will be fast as hell too. Can't see too many people going through Denmark, should be pretty open there.

Hi, i just received NOA2 hardcopy yesterday and the information it contains is kinda confusing. It says that the package has been forward to consulate in Nigeria, but I thought it supposed to pass trough NVcC before it goes to consulate. Can u pls expalin this to me? TKS!
