To be quite honest, I think that all is happening with Vermont right now, is that they are, by some sort of weird logic, slowing down to CSC timelines of about 90-100 days processing.

People, it's not THAT BAD, really.

We have to do it once and that's it. Yes, it's hard as hell being apart, but this is one and only time when we HAVE to.

So let's stop with downer posts here, we all need to be helping each other and cheer up :)

I agree, it doesn't matter what we say or do the process will not go any quicker. But remember there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

I have taken to setting myself little targets so i am focusing more on them than on the whole process as it would end up driving me crazy, I have my graduation jan 23rd, my birthday in feb with his first visit to England, a nephews birthday, a trip to OK for another wedding in June and my brother and sister in law are having new baby due in July.

The process will be stressful and i wont lie it will defo be on my mind a lot as i want nothing more then to be with him, but i am defo going to make the most of the time I have left with my family and friends I don't want them to remember me as someone that got way to stressed out with this. This is where this board comes in, we are all going through the same experience so we are all able to be there and support each other.

To cheer you up i did notice that someone who got the NOA1 at the start of November has gotten their NOA2

Lets stick together, we are already half way through January, which means the first month down :)

It was never 9 months to begin with. 6 months is overshooting it as well. Even with the slowdown, they are about halfway through October.

Stop being a downer too :)

You obviously are a first timer filing a petition....You have no clue as to how the system works.. I and some friends are on our second petion in 8-10 years for our own personal reasons . The 6-9 months is the time frame I speak of is the time it will take from filing to visa in hand... If you don't like the facts then just wait and see how long it takes THEN let me know if I'm a downer? or if I was factual........ USCIS processes a certain ammount of a paticular visa for a few months then must move on to others in all fairness because people are waiting for other types of applications..It was never 9 months to begin with? I suggest you start reading some old posts and see how long some have waited.. Go back a year OK ???? Some have waited longer than that I was being positive not a downer as you say.I filed just before you and I am not happy with the slowdown either but this is how it is...

Yeah, if they were really planning on taking that long, surely they'd have to change the processing times on their website, which still say 5 months...

Maybe 6-9 is a reasonable estimate from date of mailing the petition to when the actual visa is in your hand (depending on your consulate and whatever AP might be involved, of course).

Yes Megger I was referring to 6-9 months as start to finish as you say.. And do not be surprised if that 5 months changes to 6 months on the USCIS websits sometime soon. Just look at your timeline you haven't even had a touch in 2 months..

Okay, whoa. I realize I haven't had a touch in two months. If I had a nickel for every time I've checked the USCIS website, I'd have enough money saved up for AOS just from the nickels. But other people's optimism is not a reason to get confrontational. I think there are more pleasant ways to phrase your feelings/assertions about the process. Things change, and just because timelines are getting longer doesn't mean history is repeating itself. Just calm down, bro.

Hi PanamaJack,

Thanks for the previous response, appears you have alot of knowledge on this process. How can you see the number of Visas at the VSC?

Thanks,

Jessica

Jessica,

Click on "My Timeline" which will display your personal timeline. Next click on the "Find Similar Timelines" tab. Under the heading "Statistics for Searched Results" you will see Overall Total Number of records in Database : 22916 (Visas Received = 9311 , Visas Pending = 13605 ). This is for VSC only.

Good Luck.

Click on your user name in the upper left of the screen. Then, click on "edit my signature" and type it in the box. You'll have to type by hand and update it with new info when it comes; it won't update automatically.

Okay,I think you really cheer me up,I am going to be banking on your posts.Cos right now am terribly depressed, and oh no! it has nothing to do with VSC coming to a halt when it comes to us November Filers,I am just depressed because my fiance lost his job, there is way too much suffering and corruption in my country, earthquakes and terrorism...arrgh!

Sorry for digressing, but does it ever happen to anyone here, just a plain feeling low about everything?I am very snappy today, sorry.

But I think everyone here is a hero.period.
