Wow! This is making me so happy hearing of all these touches and approvals *finally* coming through for us December filers! I hope to get some good news in the next couple of weeks!!!!!!

Question for all you knowledgeable folks... and forgive my ignorance...but no matter how much i search, i keep getting different answers on this. WHAT can I do paperwork wise to get ready for post NOA2 activity? I know about the affidavit of support, ok no problem, simple paperwork to fill out. But what about the medical? And something about a police report?? What is that all about?? I thought they were already doing background checks before they approve anything? Anyhow regardless of all that what can i get ready before my NOA2 to overnight to wherever when the time comes. Like everyone else, this visa stuff has turned my and my fiances lifes into a stress nightmare. She could be losing her place to live and might have to stay with friends until she comes back stateside so anything I can do to speed up an interview date I want to get done.

Also what is p3 and p4? Our consulate is in Vancouver but we might have to do a change of address to Calgary if she loses her place to live.

Thanks in advance and CONGRATS to all those new NOA 2ers!!

Since every consulate is different, I suggest you make a post on regional Canada forum. There, people will tell you exactly what packets are there for Canadian consulate (I have no idea).

Also, yes, you do need to get a police report from every place you ever lived for longer than 6 months since the age of 16 (1 report for each country lived in, basically)

Ok thanks! And congrats to you BTW!

...so I need to get a police report for myself then? or for my fiance in Canada? or both? Can I just go down to the station by my house and ask them for one?

Thank you :)

----------

Depends on who is a foreign fiancee :) or fiance!

Person residing in Canada would need to obtain a police report.

Again, refer to regional board on how to get it, because every country is different.

For example, for Ukraine, you have to go to the Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Interior...so you know...it's different everywhere.

Just send it back as soon as humanly possible. It won't add that much longer. I know it sucks, but I hope it's an easy fix

we Got RFE

Did you get a text or E-Mail message saying this?

You will not know what the RFE is for till you recieve the actual letter..This is only a temporary setback..about 3-4 weeks..At least they are on your case. As soon as you reply you usually get the NOA-2 within a few days..

For the record....It can't be that bad...Hell....... if they approved me they will approve just about anyone..

what's an RFE?

It is a request for additional information/documents.......

Does a touch the day after our approval mean that is when the petition is mailed to the NVC? We received a touch today, 3-19-2010 and our NOA2 was yesterday...just curious...
