Thank you Jenine! I have never been so anxious about anything in my life before. I think of only Irina 24/7 and we are making as many plans as we can, but we just do not know the date of her arrival, so it is difficult. I have never been so much in love, and I miss her so very much. She has made everything in my life better...she has made me a better me. Every day I miss her more because I need her so much, but I know that she will be here in several months, I just wish we knew the date of her interview now; the waiting is so difficult

Welcome to the ship!

As before, I advise a couple of things:

- DO NOT compare your timlines to others

- Prepare to wait 5 months for NOA-2 and be pleasantly surprised when it arrives early

- After 3-4 months, if you don't have your NOA-2 ask your fiancee to start with police report (it's valid for 6moths to a year, based on your consulate and it takes couple of weeks to get, so it's nice to have it in hand before NOA-2 even)

- Get your fiancee to obtain her immunization records, so it can be transcribed onto the form during her medical

And as always, update us on your progress and try to stay positive, as hard as it is.

Sincerely yours,

Martyshk

To true....

I got my police record back today, as its valid for a year in the UK i decided to put it in a few weeks ago, didn't think it would be this quick in its turn around, my last crb took 6 weeks so was impressed by the immigration one, at least something has come in quick, now just to focus on thet coverted NOA2, but all in due time.

Hellzbelz - that is just how i feel about my SO, its amazing to know that there is someone out there that can make us feel this way...just sucks that there is so much paperwork and red tape in the way. I want to start planning our wedding but have finally agreed to stop well at least time we get the NOA2, when we can finally get a rough estimate of when we could actually set the wedding or decide on doing a small thing with just the two of us, before doing a big one at a later date.

Welcome,

I have seen this site before, but I just recently registered. Waiting is so very difficult and I have tried to not think about it, but this does not work...I think about it all the time and I realize now that it will be much better if I had support and other people to speak with

Thank you so much for your advice! Irina and I actually have an attorney assisting us and they want us to wait to get the police report after we have received our NOA-2. Believe me, I want to do everything right away! We are hoping strongly to receive our NOA-2 in March sometime, but of course we do not know when we will receive it. I miss her so much it hurts...Она моя птичка (L) We are making many plans, but we cannot set dates until we know when her interview in Moscow will occur. How do you cope with the waiting?? It is so difficult for me to live without Irina here...

I know exactly what you mean! Irina has shown me that true love DOES exist. Our time together has been so incredible, I did not want to leave to return home. But I know that our waiting now will result in an incredible life together, it is just so difficult because I miss her deeply...

Ok, bold thing #1: F the lawyer. They are mostly retarded. I made a mistake going with one... They are no help, whatsoever. (I went with one because I found the site AFTER I submitted our petition)

Bold thing#2: We cope with daily chats and webcams. Daily. Also heavy drinking at times helps.

Also, I found that a good coping strategy is to think of a new day as a one day closer to being together, because in the end, that's the only thing that is true and can be counted on.

Do not set expectations for NOA-2, because when they are not met, you will be crushed (trust me, talking from experience)

If you need anything, post here or on RUB boards (we tend to be more evil and sardonic there though, so take us with a grain of salt).

Captain signing off.

Sincerely yours,

Martyshk

True that, everything you need immigration advice-wise can be found here.. I didn't go with a lawyer and saved at least $1,000 to not pay a $15/hr paralegal fill out forms for me.. Chatting helps, drinking helps, ranting here helps..

Oh, and don't go poking at the November filers.. They're old and cranky.. :jest:
