Desperate Times Require Desperate Measures...

I wouldn't normally post a plea here but I thought what the heck.

I need to get hold of some dried coconut milk powder. Not milk, not desiccated. It's a dried milk powder.

Yes, I can get it on the net, but the problem is I need it for this coming Friday. No online store will guarantee they can get it to me in time.

Is there any wonderful citizen out there who has an Indian grocery store near them, or a speciality store where they might sell it? And is the wonderful person willing to post it to me?

Obvisouly I will reimburse them for their efforts via check or Paypal.

I know...I haven't a hope...right?

Don't mean to second guess that must have the powder form, but I know that my mom could substitute almost anything in a recipe without anyone knowing the difference. If you can't get a hold of some before Friday, is there anything you can substitute it with?

Yeh, it has to be the powder. The milk or desiccated would be too wet or too lumpy. I tried to grind the desciated stuff, I was that desperate! If I can't get it, I will have to do without. It's for OH's birthday cake if that pulls any heartstrings :P:whistle:

Lou Lou!

I found an Indian Grocer in Anaheim which is close enough to me. He has the package for something like $1.39. I told him it can't be the desiccated kind. He said it was the regular.

Here is the name of the store and number if you want to verify. If this is what you need, I'll go get it for you and ship it off to you Monday morning.

Oh Excellent!! I just called the store and the poor guy was getting very suspicious with another call about coconut powder ;)

That is just fab if you could do that for me. Shall we take it over to email to discuss the issue of cash?

I am one happy bunny if this pulls through :dancing:

I have. We have one store in the whole state but it hasn't been open for the past 3 days. I can't rely on it being open this coming week so it's desperate measure time!
