is any body there applying for k3 visa =montreal=and have been waiting 7 weeks ago for the packet 4 or the interview date to be schduled?!

Are you saying you sent back your Package 3 seven weeks ago, and you're asking if someone has gotten their package 4? or their interview date scheduled? Unless something's really changed, you're looking at about 5 months or so for an interview to be scheduled. There was recently a whole lot of K-1's that had been backlogged for months and months that got interviews, don't know about K-3's at this point.

i mean the interview date schduled for the k3 ! i have told that the k3 is the faster than others but it seems long time for us !

Well actually the k3 isnt faster than others! In theory the k3 should be around the same time frame as the k1, but that is no longer the case the past few yrs! Now a days it runs almost along the same time frame as the cr-1, THUS, it doesn't make much sense to go the k3 route as the cr-1 is a far superior visa in every way. Too bad you hadn't found VJ before you started the process. Now if you were going through Vancouver consulate, then maybe the k3 makes a bit of sense, as that consulate is faster than the Mtl consulate.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hyper, seriously, take some time and look at time lines. If you want to assume your K3 is going to take the same amount of time as a K1, you're looking at least another 4-5 weeks until you find out your interview date, and then another 3-4 weeks after that until your actual interview

It's more fair to say that you're going to wait just as long as the CR1/IR1. That means you still have 2-3 monts to wait before you find out your interview date.

Also, if you don't stop complaining some people that have been waiting MUCH longer than you will have some not so nice remarks for you.

I don't think you actually read the responses. You've been asking the same question since before you even sent in the packet 3. If you actually take the time to look around you'll see how long people have been waiting. You also seem to be under the misguided impression that since you filed for a k3 that your something special. You will not be processed any faster then the k1's or cr1's no matter what your lawyer told you.

While it's nice to see that you've taken to starting your own thread, instead of jumping into others and posting the same thing over and over, you have to realize that you have not been waiting all that long. You will be waiting approximately as long as a CR1/IR1 visa, which is taking far longer than the K1. K3 is not the fastest option out there. It used to be a quicker method than the CR1, which is why it was so often used, but that is no longer the case.

There are many threads available to view the timelines of others. No one can tell you when you will receive your date and while everyone sympathizes that the wait is hard, there's little if anything you can do.

You will not and cannot be told anything different than what you've been told countless other times. And, as LilMermaid said, it doesn't ever seem as if you actually read the responses given anyhow. Nor the posts of those you pose your questions to. If someone says they haven't received their interview yet, bombarding them with questions as to whether or not they've received their Packet 4... just shows you didn't actually read anything past "we are on such-and-such visa".

Reading through the forums is the best place to start. No one can give you the magical answer you're looking for, you must wait along with everyone else for Montreal to get the stuff in order. I'm sorry there isn't a better answer out there for you. Your lawyer misled you by saying this was the "easy way to bring your wife", and I'm sorry for that. But we can't make what he said any more or less true than it is.

Acquire some patience... it's the best thing you can possibly do at this point.

I've been posting about the wait times in response to Hyper since he/she had been waiting only 2 weeks. They don't bother to read the responses posted and just continues on posting the same thing, over and over again.

Hyper's interview:

H: So...will I get my visa? Will I?

CO: Uh...I have to ask you some questions.

H: Does this mean I'm approved?

CO: Hold on, first you have to tell me...

H: Tell you what? Am I approvable? Am I?

CO: Sir...calm down. Can you tell me how you met your spouse.

H: If I answer do I get my visa? Do I?

CO: Answer the question please.

H: How much longer is this going to take?

CO: Okay, I can tell you're not serious about this process. Please come back once you are prepared.

H: So...do I grab my visa on the way out?
