Contacting Montreal via phone

Hi Everyone,

Well, I've emailed twice and haven't heard back. I tried calling but you can not get a live person on the other end. I do remember a while back calling them and talking with someone but maybe I just have the wrong number. Maybe if I call the Toronto office they will put me through to a real person!!! Anyone have any phone numbers??

On my interview date, I left my birth certificate there and tried to call. However, the only option they give to talk to a real person is if you are a USC with an emergency. Otherwise, they will hang up or they direct you to their website.

So perhaps calling DOS or emailing them is better?

However, I may be wrong. But Ive never had luck calling them.

When Montreal got buried by too many cases, they stopped answering their phones for easy contact.

Calling DOS is probably your best bet, where they could at least tell you if there's a better way of going about contacting Montreal directly.

Two emails without a response isn't normal, though. Did you receive auto-replies back with both of those? Did you reword your second email to ensure they didn't read it as something answered by their routine FAQs (and therefore wouldn't have bothered actually responding)?

When I was waiting for my package to be sent back in October (after 8 weeks of waiting), I emailed them on two different occasions and I did receive the auto reply but never a response. I also emailed them a few days before my interview in August and I titled it "Interview question" and they responded within one day. So, I emailed them last week with the title as "MTL2009xxxxxx" and the one I sent today is titled "Interview/appointment", so I'm hoping that the title thingy might work and get their attention.

Is there anyone right now that is waiting to hear back from the consulate after sending in additional proof? Does anyone know of someone waiting?

Your case number should always be in the subject line of any emails you send their way.

I would venture a guess to say that they might disregard emails with anything pertaining to "interview" in the subject line, as they probably assume you could be looking for timeline info, and their FAQs attempt to address that.

I don't know your case well enough to compare, but I do know there are several folks waiting on word after sending in further domicile evidence.

The day that I tried calling the Embassy, I just got a call center for the Embassy, and it cost me like $1.98/min. and got no where. Which I can't blame the person that I talked to. She basically just told me to email Montreal and that the Embassy would reply back in 24hrs. Still waiting to hear back from them.

i hve been waiting for 7 weeks too and there is no news yet, i call the DOS almost every each day but there is no interview date , its seems that gonna take frever , cross u hand and pry for u and for us !!
