Hi everyone,

I have the question, the NVC had forward my case file to Guangzhou Embassy on Sep/29/2009, does any one have idea how long it take for the embassy to recieve it? I called DOS yesterday and the operator said they still haven't receive the hard copy yet.

Thank you.

ya, sorry - you got the 'slow boat' or 'dead zone' ...

expect anywhere from 2 months to 4 months ...

keep checking with DOS, though...

when they say 'P3 sent' - then you can use my P3 shortcut, same day - see

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut

and..

sometimes, you get some result when you email the IV unit at GUZ.. Try ONE email, see if they respond..

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

More than likely the case file is either stuck in the normal 3 month customs hold, or is in the warehouse waiting for the consulate to get ready to "receive" the case.

It is highly recommended to join and study everything you can on "A Candle for Love" that site has extensive information covering the interview process at the Guangzhou consulate. The VO's there link to deny visas to those who are un-prepared.

Moving this to the consulate forum.

What do you mean "P3 sent"? I already submitted P3 and DS-230 w/ all the documents to NVC before they sent to US embassy.

I did email the IV unit and they said are waiting for the case file.

You originally posted this to the K-1 forum so answers assume K-1, K-1 does NOT have DS-230/Docs sent by the petitioner to NVC, all of this is handled in China.

Process,

NVC sends K-1 case to consulate,

Consulate receives case, and sends beneficiary P-3.

Beneficiary returns DS-230 part 1 and OF-169 to the consulate.

Consulate sends out P-4 with medical instructions and interview appointment.

Beneficiary goes to interview bringing all documents to interview.

WHAT visa are you doing?? K-1 as per where you posted this or CR-1 for a spousal visa?? This is a big reason why a timeline and profile details should be done before posting.

If CR-1 you could have opted to do NVC process electronically and avoided the normal 3 month delay. MORE: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37703

ah - so an I-130 , yes?

Sorry, no P-3 there (I assumed you had a K-1, because you posted in a K-1 forum )

You are in dead-zone time, sorry... Must to wait 2 to 4 months...

Did you stumble across NVC electronic processing, by any chance ?

Now, when DOS hotline has 'next status' - it should be 'P4 sent' along with 'interview date set' - they do that, same time, USUALLY.

Sorry!!! I am doing the visa of F-3 (I-130), US citizen apply married children over 21. Hope someone can help with this type of question.

Thanks.

'type of question' - eh - sorry - by the time it's left NVC, all 'variances' for an F-3 vanish.

So, hang in there, must to wait. Keep Calling DOS for status.

Good Luck !
