Let me preface by saying I know I put this in the working/traveling forum-I'm a little touched this morning. I'm copying here because I really want to get as much feedback as I can. I'm not sure how quickly my post would be moved. So I apologize for the screw up. Now..onto my post!

Hey folks, the interview is just a few days away and nerves are starting to creep up.

I have all the things on the Interview list they tell you to bring but I wanted to run by everyone what I have for supporting doc's.

We just moved July 1 into a new place, so there are no utility bills yet.

What I do have is this:

(in no particular order)

- wedding cards from friends/family

- our wedding invites

- marriage cert from the church (yes we have the real one too)

- cell phone bill with both our names on it (and our new address)

- lease agreement (both our names on it)

- letter of endorsement from the local YMCA (I've volunteered there while I couldn't work)

- letters from family after I've moved (asking how are you etc etc.)

- we have 2 joint accounts and we have our bank statements which have both our names on it

- wedding pictures

- pictures from the new house and around town

- I have life insurance with my hubby as my beneficiary (he has none)

- we have a joint credit card, but statements only come with 1 person's name on it so we are going to give a photocopy of the credit cards (same account number on them)

- paystub from my new job (only been there 2 weeks)

- car insurance showing me added

- letter from my new employer (I'm the foreign spouse)

And then of course every frieakin thing we've ever submitted, which is a sweet mother of a file.

We have all the essentials (passport/marriage cert/birth cert/NOA's etc.)

I'm bringing a copy of my 693A even though I submitted it with my AOS.

We're bringing a new I864, 3 months of pay stubs for my hubby, and a new employer letter, even though we already submitted all that too.

As for the photos, we don't have many after the wedding. We took some last weekend and I have some of our new house.

Is the above enough?? We don't have health insurance so I can't use that, and due to the fact we moved we have no utility bills with our names. In the old place, we didn't put me on the bills because we knew we were moving so what was the point. Will this be an issue? I am thinking no, but as everyone, you get paranoid.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I have the next 4 days to copy everything I need and get all my photos together.

How's it look? I'm going through Boston too so if anyone has been there recently it'd be nice to know.

Thanks

How have you guys set up your documents? I have read that a lot of people use binders and the clear cover pages to keep everything.... Is there a certain format that USCIS has suggested? I have never read about one...

We have this portable file folder thingy, looks kinda like a briefcase, which we found much easier to use.

I am spending today getting all of our stuff together for our interviews Thursday. It is so nice to know there are others out there feeling my pain! :hehe:

I have a few questions:

1. Is there any reason to bring MORE passport style photos to the interview?

2. Is there any reason to bring a checkbook to the interview?

3. I am feeling uneasy because I've realized, going through everything, that I think I submitted my husband's original vax supplement with the I-485 (whereas for our son, I kept the original and gave them a copy). I have a copy of my husband's vax supplement. Does anyone think this will be a problem?

4. Is it necessary to provide USCIS with copies of personal cards/letters/emails, or just have them on hand?

5. I realize this question has been asked before, and I hate to sound stupid but my brain is just FRIED right now... "All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status" means the marriage certificate, right?? Is there anything else that is critical for K1's and K2's to meet this (other than all the birth/divorce/passport stuff?)??

Thanks everybody. And our very best wishes to fellow AOS'ers!!

Maya

Many thanks to the Visajourney community for all the help!

-I'm not bringing any passport style photos, and I don't think you need it, or that would have definitely been on the letter.

-I don't think there's a reason for a checkbook, but mine is in my purse anyways, so it'll be there.

-If you submitted the vax suppliment I think you are fine. Just think, if it hadn't been fine, you would have been RFE'd for it.

- I don't know about the cards etc, I'm not planning on copying them unless I heard otherwise from this board. I doubt they'll even look at them but better safe than sorry.

- As for "All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status" I am not too sure what it is they want. But hell, I'm bringing everything possible so I'm sure I'll have whatever it is they need.

As for preparing documents, we'll be using an accordion type folder thing. I use file folders to separate things: for example one folder is "All USCIS mail" so it has all the NOA's, RFE, whatever they sent us. We have another that's "Supporting documents" which will be the biggest by far and include the photos, cards, joint accounts etc. We'll have another that says "All filed forms" which will have our I129F, I485, I131, I765 etc. And so on. We'll do a separate folder for taxes/pay stubs...and I just keep going along.

I always make one folder called "Must Haves" In it, I put all the things the interview letter states I Must bring with me, like marriage cert., birth cert., my AP, and whatever else was on the interview list that specifically states I must have it.

I'm not doing the binder thing because I don't want to hole punch 200,588 pieces of paper.lol.

Let's all be sure to post and keep in touch via PM this week so everyone knows what's going on.

I've used the same system for my fiance interview and anything else I've done for Immigration and it's been good.

Does anyone know if we need to take that stupid Xray with us? I hope not, it's pretty awkward.

So, you guys think I have enough??

I just copied all missing pieces of old forms so now I have a complete package. I'll be a photocopying madwoman in about 2 days.

Good luck and congrats to all

Man, Canucker18, you guys are flying! I think you're going to set some kind of record! Your AOS list looks darn good to me. Thanks for the responses. I may copy a few things: boarding passes from our flight to the US, and from another family trip out west this past spring, maybe a few cards and letters, stuff like that. We are taking photos from all trips I took to my husband's country... they can keep any they like because we have them all on discs. I am making two sets of the additional financial info, one for my husband and one for our son (since we had to submit separate I-864's for each, I am assuming we need separate supplemental info for each as well).

I hope they don't ask us for our copy of the I-129 package (or any of the others)... I am so attached to that stuff... and yet I can't make myself make another copy of it. I just hope none of our stuff got lost on the way...

Yes, please, let's do keep in touch over the next week(s)!

Maya

Your list looks great Please let us know how the interview went, mine is August 30 in California.

The only thing my husband and I don't have is joint bank account. I entered on H1b visa and met him when I was down here. We had different banks and because of direct deposit and other bills coming off we just left as is. We do have a joint savings and added eachother to our individual accounts. We have been married two years ( I know we were slow filing) and can show evidence of joint health ins., apt lease, bills, joint car ins., joint credit account, beneficiary on life insurance and photos, and my name change on driver licence and at work. We also had a large formal wedding and have invitations, receipts of payment, and honeymoon. Do you think it will be ok that we never had one main joint bank account.??
