The weather is like HK here at the moment. So humid and hot. I thought that I'd escaped that! Good news, we got 'officially' engaged yesterday (i.e. I finally got the ring but it needs to be resized - how they managed to make it too small for my tiny fingers is beyond me) and we set a date :-)

I hope the weather clears up Terri. How can it be yukky during summer over here. That's what I hear in Britain!

Congratulations Robert and Nelly!!! Not much new news on this end. Just waiting for Ivan to get documents, documents, and more documents. Proof of biological father, school documents, notarized birth certificates of kids, and anything he can scrape up that we may need after the move.

I do know the schools here...lol...work in the district, so yeah, asked a few bilingual students the same age if they could online chat and answer some of my stepson's questions. Ease their nerves a bit. lol. Their dad is trying to work it into some love connection.

Agreed with the group. This summer is unusual hot and sticky.

My daughter is bummed out that she is moving into her first apt., and it lands the same weekend I am heading to Ecuador for the interview. She says "don't worry about it or moving the interview", but I know she is sad and already was feeling a little back-seat. That sucks, but I can't come up with a better day to interview that works around back-to-school so I'll have to work to make it up to her.

Any more weddings???

July 2010 Three MORE calls-"now I can't book end of August, that's too far ahead to put on the calendar".

August 2010 Last-minute decision by two of Ivan's boys that they want the K2, two more weeks of drafting and Notorizing new legal custody agreements

8/12/10 A FIFTH PIN and call-- "call back just ahead".

8/16/10 A SIXTH PIN and call-- "we can book you for in two days, but if you want next Monday the 23rd or Tuesday the 24th, then call back later THIS WEEK, and we will book you for MONDAY MORNING". frustrated letter by me to Consulate email

8/17/10 Call from US Consulate Guayaquil, man profusely apologizing, books us for 24th.

8/24/10 K1 interview--denied--told he has a lifetime ban. Sad, sad, very sad day.

Currently investigating options on marriage...then 1.5 years of more wait.

Hello Ladies!

Sorry, I've been gone for two weeks. Alas, I had a nice long letter written and as I was about to send it, VJ hiccuped and the letter disappeared! *sigh* All good here but super busy. Wedding in 8 days. NOT small! I've had 49 "yes" replies to the invitations and I haven't heard back from another 50. We told the caterer to plan on 50 max. Oooops!

Building a deck too...

Gotta run! I'll try to get some photos up after the event.

~Casper

Get well Angelo!

Hey there everybody just wanted to let you all know I have been taking great care of the patient and he is 100% better.

It is 9 days until we get married! My mother and step dad have booked their flight to Ohio and all our friends down here are ready to party!

I bought my dress and I adore it! Nice and cheap and exactly what I wanted I am so happy.

Anywho we are getting married at 9:30 am and the rest of the day is pure partying.

How is everyone else doing!? :)

Happy for you and Angelo, Meggy! You must be getting excited :)

We are getting married either 8th, 9th or 10th of Sept, depending on how work goes for Yuri this week - it's really busy. The best news is that I'm getting my ring fixed free because they admitted that it was their mistake that the design was wrong. Yay

And, I've managed to get my name fixed in the SAVE system really easily (fingers crossed).

Meggy I am glad to hear Angelo is doing much better. Not long now until your big day..so happy for you to find the dress you wanted too.

Emma that is awesome that you could fix the name change online. Hope all comes together for your wedding day too.

All is great here...life continues in its usual pattern -- Eric working nights *that sucks* and me pottering around the house going insane...wanting to do mroe the house stuff. It sounds silly I know but I want to be back working somewhere...anywhere at this point.

Tomorrow is our Biometrics appointment in Cleveland...another step closer.

I hope the Biometrics goes okay, Terri. I know exactly what you mean about working. I've only been here 6 weeks and I'm getting so sick of having nothing to do all day and no money of my own. You'll be able to work soon enough though.

I didn't do it online but I managed to finally talk to the right person and just need to fax copies of my documents to them and hopefully that will be it and it will be fixed.

I am in the same boat guys.

It is knowing that I am not making my own money anymore is driving m crazy. I mean it was nice hanging out and not having to get up early for awhile but now I am ready to get out of the house and do something!

I can't wait until AOS is over. I am for sure not looking forward to it. I said I was going to deal with it right after the wedding so I have a few more days of enjoying myself lol.

I am glad that everyone is happy though.

I am going to post lots of the wedding pics up for you guys to see! I just cant wait

Good Evening Ladies (and any Gentlemen still about)! This will be my last post as a single man. In 25 hours the ceremony starts. Less than 30 minutes later I'll be wearing a ring for the first time in my life! (Didn't have one with the first wedding.)

Life now is an amusing combination of angst and joy as you can imagine. ALL of my immediate family is here (22) and the guest list is now up to 50 more. Good thing we changed the cake size to feed 80!

The new deck I am building should be done in 2 hours and the lights hung in the trees by dark tonight.

Going to Hawai'i (Maui) for the Honeymoon. Turns out we can get RT airfare to Maui, 8 nights in a condo on the beach, and a rental car, for almost the same price as airfare alone to Cleveland--our first choice 'cuz the kids wanted to go to the rollercoaster park in Sandusky (Cedar Point). So, yes, there will be 6 of us on the combo Honeymoon/family vacation and Diana and I are both fine with that!

Glad to hear everyone is still doing well and Angelo is not suffering for lack of nursing attention!

More after Hawai'i. :D

Hey Casper!!

That is such great news! I am so excited for you and Diana the moment of truth is almost here for you guys!

I hope you take lots of pics I would love to see as I am sure the rest of the December filers possy would.

Oh my goodness! You really are having a ton of people there. Thats great. Send a slice of the cake my way if there is leftovers which it sounds like there might not be lol.

Hawaii sounds fantastic! Angelo and I were thinking about that for the honeymoon before we decided on California.

I am sure it will be beautiful. Cedar point is so cool! I have seen pics and friends here have gone and I always have wanted to go. If you guys ever do go there let me know and we would love to join you!

Well have a great time tomorrow you deserve it!

The bosses said I couldn't take off work during teacher inservice...nor the first week of school...nor the second because Union policy prohibits connecting a day off to the holiday weekend. So the soonest I could go down again to Ecuador to the interview would be Sept. 13th, postponing it ANOTHER two weeks. Nope. We have borrowed the money from family to move up the date (since saving for 3 interviews and Visas and legal custody papers was taking us a bit longer). We are turning lemons into lemonaide.

I am flying back to Ecuador on Friday, and we will interview Tuesday the 24th. I fly back Wed. the 25th, have my PhD class the 26th, and first day of teacher inservice the 27th. I'm sooooooo excited. Woot Woot.:dance::dance: Cross your fingers for my sanity!!!

We are last but happy as can be to get in there and move on to this next step. I will keep you posted!
