Caladan Dinner Theatre Presents:

The Tale of the Idiot Fiancé Whom I Love But Has Become Distressingly, Stereotypically, Male.

I neglected to make a copy of the G-325A when I sent it off to Petition Land, so I asked the man I'm marrying to print himself a second copy from his computer and send it to me, signed.

Of course, one can't save the G-325A, so he must fill out the form again. Fortunately, we were able to save the supplement sheet, because are you there God, it's me Margaret, the form was just too hard.

First off, he put the wrong birthday in. So now his birthday is in April instead of October. Oh, and he's been living at his present address since 19767. Dinosaur fiancé!

I realize we're perfect for each other with my inability to date checks, but for the love of little apples, proofread the damn form before you send it 2000 miles.

So, the ensuing phone conversation:

'Babe?'

'Yeah?'

'So, when's your birthday?'

'October'

'Okay, you said April here.. Remember what we said about lying to Homeland Security?'

'That is was bad?'

'Yeah.'

 Wow, you have a damned good attitude though!

I'm practically crying over my RFE.

My rant would be: I'm leaving tomorrow, and I think my RFE will get here and I'll have to ask other people to do a lot of stuff for me in order to fulfill its requirements, which I hate to do.

I just put together a bunch of stuff in case the RFE is for more proof of meeting in the past 2 years, but we'll see.

This process is not made for control freaks! Which I am!

Take a deep breath and TRY not to obsess... I'm the biggest control freak on earth... I know what you're talking about. Thankfully, David is very forgiving.

He didn't TELL ME that he realized that he didn't have a 'certified copy' of his birth certificate (for the interview... he DID have an original), nor did he write an update letter of intent (which we had talked about weeks ago)... he knew I wouild freak out if he told me... he IS learning :P

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

 Thank you, Jen! I am trying to let go... breathe in, breathe out... it will be harder when the ball is entirely in Rey's court (post NOA2), but right now I'm just beating myself up over having made some as yet unidentified mistake in my application. Sigh. Rey is also very forgiving of this (both the mistake and my cotrol-freak-ness), but I can't seem to forgive myself anything!

Alex, don't worry - the RFE is probably for something silly, like a copy of your (or his) passport

or birth certificate (which was the case with my K-1 RFE.) I remember they also asked us for

dated photographs (the ones we had sent had no dates.)

I just saw this thread! YAY, griping!

Here's what annoys me at the office:

* People wearing too much perfume/cologne. Happens every day. There's this woman who picks up the mail who soaks herself in this baby powder-smelling concotion, it's vile.

* Hissy fits. Since where I work employs a lot of young women, there are a lot of hissy fits. Not being sexist...I'm a woman myself...but it's really distracting.

* People who use the elevator to go up/down two floors or less. Unless they're injured or have a health condition, it's just pure laziness. With the UK getting fatter and fatter, they should use the stairs. (As for me, I work on the third floor...fourth floor for Americans...and I usually take the stairs up and down.)

* People who complain at you when you're chatting with a colleague, then turn around and do it themselves. All day long.

Woooo, I feel better.

It'll be okay! Look at it this way: you know they have it, it's not lost, they're working on it, and there's just one little piece of info they need. Doesn't imply that you did anything wrong -- maybe they spilled coffee on your evidence. ;)

I have a rant...

Hubby started day shift a few weeks ago and it was great... he usually was home by 3 or 4 at the latest... Well, it looks like now he will be getting home around 5:30 or 6  or later and to top it off... they want his shift to work Saturdays and possibly Sundays but Sunday might just be on a volunteer basis... I think the weekend thing is just for a month or so but it still sucks

Overtime seems to follow him wherever he goes :P

I have a rant. There were supposed to be layoffs today. I even cleaned all the junk out of my cube and put everything I need to take with me in one place. I also cleaned up my laptop of all the junk I had downloaded over the years.

And now it's almost lunchtime and so far nothing. #######.

I don't want to be but I also dislike surprises. I'd rather it happen when I expect it to and not when I don't. And yeah the rumor mill has 50% of the workforce in this building gone by the end of 06. The half that will get to stay will be management and business analysts and project managers.

I'm hearing the layoffs happened as rumored, but none in our building.
