Hi everyone. I've read a lot of the posts here but this is my first post.

I'm a US citizen and my fiance is from China. I successfully petitioned for a K-1 Visa. She's been here for 80 days. Yeah, I know - only 10 days before her visa expires but we are getting married this week.

We are getting married in Las Vegas at the Little Church of the West and I was wondering if anyone here was married there and had any comments on their experience.

We visited the Chapel two weeks ago. We both enjoyed it and the staff seems pretty accomodating and flexible to some degree. There was a small issue with the photography since they won't take digital pics. However, they did say that they could take a few for us with our digital camera and that we could have a guest take a few.

Our wedding will be early evening so we expect it to be hot.

Ok, that's it! Any comments would be great.

Thank you in advance should you post. This forum has really helped me through the process.

My fiance and I are getting married in Vegas too! In September. She's from Australia. She was here on vacation with family in California and her cousins decided to take her to Vegas for the weekend after New Years 2004. And we randomly met outside of Club Rain just to get some fresh air... Two years and 9 months later... we'll be getting married. I lived in California then, but Florida now... instead of getting married in Florida... and Vegas has some sentimental value to us, we decided to do it there so that all our closest friends and relatives can attend.

Congrats! Great story. I'm a musician and I've played hundreds of weddings. I've played in just about every kind of catering hall you can think of. I was very skeptical of Vegas because of the "cheese" element!! However, I found it to be very quaint and I like the vibe. My fiance liked it also. We'll probabably do something more traditional for her family in China next summer. I'm also a teacher so I have the summers off.

Congrats on your wedding again. We wish you and yours a magical and happy day!

Hello, just got your PM. Feel free to email. The ceremony itself was beautiful..........but I was upset that nobody was allowed to take pictures of us during the exchange of vows. Even though I had arranged to have somebody be allowed up front, the Minister wouldn't allow it. We didn't opt for the video for the same reason that somebody was going to be taking it (family) and again the Minister told them to sit down. We received our proofs which I wasn't impressed with and we still haven't got our 8 x 10. But our digital pictures came out lovely other than the backs of our heads during the ceremony.

But other than that it was a lovely spot and I know where you're coming from with 'cheesey' ....we didn't want that either. Congratulations to you and yours. And thanks back (F) ..................{{{{{HUGS}}}} Joan

We did it at the top of the Stratosphere tower. Would recommend the "inside chapel" rather than the outdoors ceremony - it is pretty loud out there. It was nice after the ceremony too... we just went right outside onto the observation deck for pics and the view. There were lots of people there that shared our excitement. And then down one floor to the nice lounge with a trio and the view too.

Hi Joan, just got back yesterday! The wedding was great. They've revamped their packages so we opted for Package #3 since it was the best value.

Thanks for the heads up. For whatever reason, the sky was the limit. I had a few friends doing video and pictures during the entire ceremony with no objections at all. Maybe this was a result from past complaints or a result of the package itself.

For anyone interested, the minister was great. He was very organized with his instructions. He moved fast, made sure everyone knew what they were doing, gave great instructions and just ran the ceremony smoothly and graciously.

The staff was very generous with the amount of time we used for pictures both inside the chapel and outside.

For anyone interested, keep in mind that our wedding took place in the "slow" season. The end of July is not their busiest time. I was talking with the photographer and he said that they typically can do 50 ceremonies on a saturday or sunday during June. That is why we were allowed more time for pictures outside because there was probably a longer than normal gap between weddings.

We were married at 7pm. My fiance was hawking the weather channel so she would know the weather that time (duh, it's always hot in Vegas!). Also, 7pm was good for picture taking.

Oh yeah, we were married in The Little Church of the West. If anyone is interested in getting married there, you can PM me and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Sorry for not responding to everyone in this thread. It's been a busy time!!
