When I left the Philippines on October 27 this year, I took the plane Manila-Hongkong-Los Angeles with the K-1 visa.

I did live in Cebu and although I couldn't remember if the CFO told us that we should come from NAIA and not Mactan-Cebu International Airport when flying to the U.S. with a K-1 visa, I decided to just start in Manila to be sure.

A friend in Cebu is flying to the U.S. on December 15 this year. According to her, the itinerary of her flight goes: Cebu-Hongkong-San Francisco.

My question: Am I supposed to advise her that she must be in Manila for the immigration check instead of Cebu? Or is it fine that she doesn't check in NAIA and just follow her original route.

I would say any international airport should be able to handle a K-1 visa holder. The visa has already been processed and all they are checking for is the CFO seminar stamp and you paid your exit/terminal taxes.

I am not completely sure, but I am sure either the airport or the airline could verify this for them.
