Hi,

This morning I went to the USEM for my scheduled CR-1 interview. While consul asked me a lot of questions regarding our case, I was able to breeze through it without problems. But at the end of the interview, I was told that, "Everything looks good and he doesn't need anymore from me BUT he needs to wait until the CRBA is issued (or if our daughter will be approved for citizenship)." We have an appointment with the USEM for our daughter on Monday, Dec 7. She will be turning 1 in Dec 9.

So, he explained that the reason why he's putting the visa issuance on hold is that the main intention of the process is to make sure that families are together and if in case, my daughter is not awarded citizenship, then it defeats the purpose of issuing me the visa coz that will mean I will not be able to bring my daughter with me. He did say, as soon as I send them the CRBA, there will be no more interviews to be done.

So I got the white paper where it says I need to submit CRBA as soon as I get it to them with my passport.

So, I guess I am posting this because I need reassurance that this doesn't mean a denial. Or if anyone here has been thru the same thing, I would appreciate and get comfort in getting feedback on what I need to expect with regards to length of process/waiting. I am disheartened that we will not be able to spend Christmas together, my little family, but I guess the consul's explanation makes sense.

I do not have any reason to think that our daughter's application for citizenship will be denied but just want to know what COULD/MIGHT cause a denial?

I would appreciate any input from anyone. Thank you in advance!

Don't worry. It doesn't sound like an issue. Actually it sounds very reasonable.

Hi! I got your email .. :)

We do have the exact same case ;) Don't worry, not a denial, just as soon as your girl's CRBA got approved, comply with what's written on the white/blue slip - the next thing would be your visa delivery ... I'm not sure how long it will take tho, but I believe it's at least 2 weeks, and I also think you can actually follow up the status of your visa after that :)

Good Luck! Godspeed!

Thanks for replying. It seems only a few people in these forums know about CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad), or maybe there's just no specific thread about it.

Anyway, Good Luck and Godspeed to both of us!

Oh, btw, did they also returned your passport to you with the white/blue slip?

Thanks,
