I filed I-751 in December and listed my 2 minor daughters (k-2) as dependents since they entered the US same time with me. I received an appointment notice for my biometrics for myself only. I had my biometrics this morning and brought along with me my 2 daughters hoping they will be accommodated. The receptionist at the application support center didn't accommodate them because they dont have the appointment notice.

I called the USCIS to check if they will be getting an appointment notice, but they told me that since they are minors they are not required to undergo biometrics and they might be requested for biometrics once they reach the age of 14. I am confused because I believe I read in other post that other appointment support centers accommodate dependents even without apointment notice. Did anyone have the same problem like me? Will they issue my daughters greencard using their photos from their previous greencard? Please help.....

Aside from wondering whether your children are under 14 (and then I think they've answered your question - they may be requested for biometrics once turning 14). Have you received NOAs for each of them?

Someone else on VJ also had the same issue and the child did not have a biometrics and got their 10-year GC as well as the child without a biometrics.

It looks like 14 is the proper age. The sour deal of all of this is that you still had to pay their biometrics fee....

From this they will not send you this information ( USCIS ) when the child is reaching 14, I am pretty sure you have to file the I-90 for this.

My 13 year old ( truns 14 in August ) recieved the bio notice and they took the bio, however not sure if he needs to do this again at 14, I will be calling the mis information line to see around the first of August.

I received a NOA for them but there is no receipt no. The NOA just indicates that they are included as my dependent in the I-751 and their greencard has been extended for 1 year.

They are ages 12 and 13. My eldest daughter is turning 14 this September, their greencard is expiring in April 2010. I paid for their biometrics fee when i filed for my I-751 so I hope I dont have to pay for their biometrics fee again.

I had my biometrics test on 01/27/2010. I checked my case status online and it says updated on 1/28/2010 but the status is still the same. I am presuming this is a "touch" after the biometrics. :unsure:

My wife received today text and email update, and her case is approved according to USCIS:
