Regarding HAL 9000's signature, "Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others," and the inferences of mind-reading on the part of certain posters or other, here is a seemingly off-topic yet actually pertinent read:

A Dream, in One Act (not original, unfortunately)

The consular officer in Guayaquil, Ecuador had grabbed yet another K-1 applicant by the belt and shirt-collar after yet another 2-minute visa interview (a rejection, via standard procedure) and was about to heave the applicant from the consulate (via standard procedure). However, the two tripped over a bottle, out of which came a genie. The genie said, "Because you are obviously arch-enemies, I will grant one of you ONE wish, and the other will automatically receive DOUBLE of what the first wishes for."

The K-1 rejectee promptly said, "I wish to be half-dead!"

Oh so you ARE directing your wish at anyone who does not want to pay for the care of the children of illegal aliens. You have read their minds and found them wishing harm on others. I don't know any unicorns, but you must. People in my world can't read minds.

Well oh well... I look forward to such a moment. My tag team will be waiting too, perhaps. I do not speak for others here. Could it be you're jealous somehow? That is not a smug question- its an honest and rhetorical one at that.

As for the rest of your 'lecture' I'll spare you a smug reaction which will only draw out an even larger and perhaps irrational response from you as you felt somehow identified in the course of the thread. As I stated in my previous reply, I do not say things to get them out my rectum. If you do notice the morons that bear the brunt of MY personal responses, you'll notice whom they are, what they argue, and how my argument is VERY context-specific. That is something that many here in VJ, particularly OT, seem to forgo either in the name of kicks, obtrusiveness, or in decompressing repressed aspects of their personality in that place called the real world. In case you have not noticed, VJ isn't exactly a bona fide part of the real world and people here say things they likely would not say elsewhere.

By now you have been around enough to identify what kind of posting takes place by certain posters. You can expect most anything that AJ posts to be intended to rile people up. Some come off as bigots and racists or complete ignorami where they suddenly have opinions that in their mind's eye, far outreaches those of learned experts. Does that not strike you as odd? IF you spent half the time covering such discussion as you've spent here arguing with someone that agrees with you on the actual issue mentioned in the discussion... imagine (again) how context could be used to get a point across.

Next, one thing you perhaps forget is that everyone here- be they right, wrong, crazy, bent, hysterical, baiting, dumb, ignorant, etc etc etc, has a right to voice their opinion as they see fit. If they propose to make ridiculous claims, or to focus their accumulated rage in a certain area... they should most assuredly expect to be engaged and exposed for what they say- ridiculous things and raging explosions.

If you took offense personally or felt identified by my conscience and how I judge what I feel to be many a waste of humanity in our human society, I apologize if it makes you feel better. I do not, however, under any circumstance, make any apology for having a system of morality, conscience, and rational thought that I weigh against a global standard where all humanity deserves equal treatment for their human condition. That is not ambiguous, self-righteous, nor hypocritical under any circumstance.

Finally, you say something. Thank you for actually committing to something, unambiguously.

I do not agree with you on this issue, either. I answered yes, yes, no. I'm sure that makes me lacking in humanity. Not that I give a sh!t what you or some others on VJ thinks about me. I've lost all respect for the opinions of such VJers.

Yes, I have noticed the author of this poll makes ridiculous claims and focuses his accumulated rage in a certain area. He was engaged and exposed for his raging explosions. He was being called on his ridiculous comments and you stepped in and joined him. "Ouch. Children aren't children?" Surely you know enough to recognize circular logic. You made ambiguous comments about righteousness. I called you on it, and you dismissed me (wouldn't have mattered who I was as long as I was someone with a differing opinion) as "Having a bad day." Smug? I'm sure you won't recognize it as such.

I do not agree with your application of "equal treatment" in this instance, but I respect it. I don't respect that you think if others do not apply it in the same way as you do it is because they are lacking in humanity. I believe life begins at conception and therefore abortion is murder, but if you do not agree with me, I do not attribute your beliefs to a lack of morality or humanity. Skewed logic, perhaps, but I don't assume you are evil. I do not believe people who do not want to pay for illegal aliens are lacking in humanity (or lack a consceience) either. But you do. I do not wish, if you support abortion, any spontaneous abortions (miscarriages) on you. But some here wish harm on the children of those who do not agree with them. I will not assume you feel the same, only that you believe that people who do not want to pay for the care of illegal alien minors don't give a sh!t about them, as you, yourself, stated.

What do you know about these people? Maybe they are working in the field in the home countries of these illegals to bring about a better life for them there. Maybe they do not want to be part of a system that exploits illegals and creates a subclass of society that lives under the law. Maybe they think creating entitlements for that subclass will only promote more illegal immigration, entrench the subclass, and exasperate the exploitation. But I'm wasting my time here because you do not listen to opposing view points, only pass judgement on them. The mission is to seek and destroy dissenting voices. Not listen and debate.

If you think that I singled you out or that I felt singled-out by you, what can I say? I am sorry and I did not. You responded to me. I responded in like. Like you say, I have a right to voice my opinion here as I see fit. I was using the tactics I've seen used here on the people I've seen use them. If they didn't like it, well . . .

Maybe if we can locate Chica's unicorns, they can lead us to that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and we can give all children of the world "equal treatment." I mean, African children are children, too, aren't they? And Indonesian children. And what about Chinese children? There is no universal health care in that communist country, so I guess we'd need to cover them as well. That's a large portion of over 1.3 billion people. I hope that pot of gold is bottomless.

But unfortunately here in the real world, until we find that pot of gold, we have to draw the line somewhere. I don't think it is unreasonable or lacking in conscience or humanity to draw that line at citizens of our nation. But I suppose those who draw the line to include illegal immigrant minors have that fraction more humanity and conscience and therefore are better than I and those who take my position. They are within their rights to wish our children have no care. I guess our children aren't children. I guess they are spawn of the devil.

I hope that those African parents aren't making similar wishes about our better citizens.
