Isn't the picture they take at the biometrics used on the EAD card?

Mine was - yes... Also they used my biometrics pic on the AP too... I guess it varies...

I got another exactly the same email about my EAD. Third times a charm I hope!

I got mine a day or two after the third e-mail - I think there's a delay between USCIS & the card production people, as my card came from Kentucky, according to the postage mark (return address was Missouri)... and was mailed a day or 2 before the 3rd e-mail. Fingers crossed for you that it will be arriving any day now

Kyle's I-765 has been approved! We got the text and email just now! I know it'll take a week or so to get it, but I'm so happy he can really start looking for jobs!!! Living off just a teacher's income is no fun!

Congratulations Laura! That's wonderful

Congrats to everyone who has received their approvals for EAD and AP. I finally after 2 emails received my EAD on Saturday, 20th. SO been job searching ever since....

I was so upset when i went to the licensing office and they told me i couldn't get my driver's license in my married name even after providing them with the certified marriage certificate...

They said because my EAD was not in my married name.. thats just wrong.. Anyway, i went ahead just so i can have an identification card.

Anyway, so i have my interview next tuesday and absolutely nervous.. I feel like i'm going for this very huge examination.. lol!

Good luck to everyone that has an interview coming up this March and thereafter... I hope and pray we all get approved.

Anyway, i found this really cool document online that i believe will help everyone with their interview....

I hope it helps cos i think i'm learning a thing or two from it....

Goodluck y'all

Hey VJ,

Today is a joyful and happy day.

We had our interview at 8am this morning. we got there at about 7.40am, went through security and were seated by 7.45. it wasn't as long as i thought it would be, just emptied out our pockets and scanned us.

we waited till about 8.34 and my husband got called in while i waited in the lobby. He came out 10 mins later and i got called in.

The interviewer swore me in and began rolling the video tape to record the session. he asked for my name and the interview began.

He asked where my husband worked, where i lived and if i worked. He also asked if i worked on OPT or had a prior EAD card. I said no that i worked on CPT and had graduated. He asked to see my diploma after that.

He then asked if i knew my husband's family, and if he knew mine. I said i knew his and have met them but my husband haven't met my family but talks to them on a regular basis. I also told him we were planning our traditional wedding in December and he seemed happy with that.

He asked what we did on Sunday and i told him we had my niece's christening and that i brought pictures with me.

He asked me if i had auto or health insurance with my husband, i answered yes but since i just got my driver's license, i hadn't been added to the auto insurance yet.

He asked what bank we used and i told. My husband already gave him the documents so i didn't really have to show anything to him except my I-20 and Diploma.

He then said, well my I-20 is now expired, so he would go ahead and approve my case...

I was ecstatic. ....

He then asked for the pictures i brought with me. I had such a good time showing him the pictures. It was like a mini show and tell, it was fun.

Anyway, i just shook his hand and he showed me out.... He didn't stamp my passport or anything.

Since I was so happy, i didn't remember to ask him to print my Green card in my married name so as soon as i got out there i called the 1-800 number and they told me to schedule an infopass to talk to them before they print the Green Card cos it will cost money to change it if they send it out.

i went online to schedule an infopass for tomorrow to talk to them about printing it in my married name.

So overall, it was a good day and i'm happy we got approved for my Green Card...

Thanks a lot VJ for helping me through the process....

To those still waiting to hear any news or interview, i wish you best of luck..

Please make sure you read through the document i attached in an earlier post, that document helped a whole bunch....

Hi guys and girls, sorry for the radio silence, we have had terrible storms and as a result were without power for what seemed like forever after Thursday evening! We now have power but no phone/internet/cable so I must keep this brief as I am at a friends house, hanging out of a window to use an unsecured network..

Interview on Monday at 8.40am... APPROVED! On the spot! No stamp or anything though.

They were very professional but polite and friendly. Didn't look over anything we had prepared, but took the photocopy of our daughters birth certificate. They kept us waiting for about 40 mins, even though there was no one else in front of us. When we got in the IO seemed to have alrealdy made his mind up about approving us, I think that they were spying on us in the waiting room before hand. The IO also had a teeny little tv monitor by his desk too... Hmmmm. And also when we came out, everyone that worked in the office came over and was cooing over/talking to our daughter (we had to bring her with us and she was actually behaving pretty well)

Got home and saw that they had opened the road that we live on (after spending all weekend chopping the tree to pieces that had crushed our fence and power lines) and when were finally able to get the post, my EAD had arrived, as had my daughters US passport. I just saw as well that I got a bunch of emails from the USCIS as well which is good.

The IO said that we can file for our 10 year greencard by post and to make sure we provide a load if information so that we don't have to have a face to face one, as currently the waiting lists locally are LONG.

Hoorah! Dead easy, asked for my AP back and my EAD, which I didn't have at the time... so he understood that we had no joint accounts as yet, but was happy with the phone bill, credit card etc and just took our word for it. I think he saw my giant pack though that helped. I had a few questions about the possibility of my husband working abroad whilst I still had my provisional greencard, and he was dead helpful answering them

Yesterday went and applied for my social security number finally! YAY!

I wish I had power/phone sooner because I was dying to tell you all about it and it was killing me not being able to. Thanks for all your help guys and girls! Huge weight off my mind. What do I do with my EAD when my GC arrives btw? Am I supposed to send it in?
