We are joining December filers as well. Filed on the 30th :D However I am worried because after 23 days still no biometrics appointment scheduled...I know we need to wait 30 days, but I am getting very impatient and worried. What should we do if nothing comes after 30 days? We got our receipt numbers for all 3 applications on the 3rd of January dated Dec 30th. They have received the package on the 23rd... I prepared it myself and I am pretty sure I have filled out everything correctly and included all necessary documentation, including medical exams which were done from scratch and cost a FORTUNE!

Hi Val Marty,

We are close in dates and have not received our biometric appointment letter as well. There is also a K-1 AOSer who filed close to us who hasn't received her either. I suppose there is comfort in numbers. We will get them soon I hope. I did a Change of Address online recently and got the notification today from them. So, they have our files... just a matter of making biometric appointments for us. :-)

We will be going on our original appointment time as I live 2 hours away and that's a lot of driving and time off I have to take. Don't want to risk not being able to do a walk-in for it. My online case status hasn't changed since 12/18, but I actually got my appointment letter in the mail today, woo! It's for March 10, so quite a while from now, but I'm still excited. :)

It came with a photocopied info sheet on "Preparing for your naturalization interview", someone at USCIS must have been added that by mistake (the appointment notice is for the I-485). Should I have received an AOS info sheet instead? If so, can anyone post a scan of theirs -- or confirm that it doesn't contain any vital information?

AOS:

12/05/09: Sent AOS package to Chicago lockbox.

12/11/09: USPS reports delivery of package.

12/16/09: I-485 check cashed.

12/17/09: I-130 check cashed.

12/28/09: Received biometrics apt. letter for 1/8/10

01/04/10: Walk-in biometrics done (Santa Ana, CA)

01/26/10: Received interview letter for March 10

02/05/10: EAD card production ordered & AP approval notice sent, both arrived in the mail shortly thereafter

03/10/10: Interview and approval for cond. GC

03/11/10: Status update "Card production ordered"

03/16/10: Welcome letter in the mail

03/22/10: GC in the mail!

ROC:

12/20/11: Mailed to CSC.

12/21/11: NOA date.

01/13/12: Scheduled biometrics.

05/18/12: Received approval letter, dated 5/14.

Wow your IL was fast! Congrats that's awesome

My letter came with a sheet about if you have disabilities and another sheet about if you'd been arrested, both totally generic - only the interview notice talked about AOS. So long as your interview letter says I-485 - i'm sure you'll all set. I'm sure either the handouts have changed or the wrong ones were stuffed in by accident.

Though now I think about it can you imagine how awesome it would be if they let you skip straight to naturalization - no ROC and no AOS interview lol! :star:

Hi All!

We're December AOS filers to... (Dec. 31) and we have my biometrics scheduled tomorrow.

Can anyone who's done it give me a little description of what's to be done?... Its it merely fingerprinting and fillling up forms?... It would help us greatly if any information can be provided...

Thanks in advance!!!

Joyce

A short sign-in form, verbally confirming personal information like address, fingerprinting, and a quick photo, that was it for me. The actual procedure took less than 5 minutes. So don't worry, noone will ask you any questions (other than "Did you make sure to leave your cell phone in the car?"). :)
