Hi everyone, I am Andria and I just joined visa journey. I really need some support. My husband is filing for me to come to the US to live with him and it seems as if the papers will reach the Jamaican embassy soon. I am so anxious and nervous about this visa interview. First of all I need to know all the documents that you think they will need and as much questions you know, that you think, they will ask me. I also have a major problem my mom did not know her correct name until she was 31 years old by that time all her kids were already born and her name that she knew growing up is on all our birth certificates. I want to know how much of a problem this is and how much of a negative impact this will have on the visa interview? I am awaiting your response. Thank you

Welcome to Visa Journey,

I have moved your post from the US Citizenship forum to the K-3 forum where you will be more likely to get useful responses.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

If it were me, I would write it like this:

Example: Jane Doe - she used when her name was really Jane Don't - Jane (Doe) Don't.

If it were Jane Doe - she used when her name was really June Don't - Jane (June Don't) Doe.

And, I'd notate and explain.

It's really not that big of a deal. Jamaican's are famous for using nicknames.

As far as the paperwork looking like it's getting to the embassy soon............well, soon come is relative in JA. Be prepared to be patient is my best advice.

Come on over to the Yardie thread.

Good luck to you.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Can you please fill in your timeline.

Also if he is just now filing for the paperwork, it will not be "too soon" for the interview. You will still need to wait for the petition to be approved before anything is sent to the embassy in Jamaica.

Welcome to VJ and good luck on your journey.

Yes, it was approved and he started in the month of March, we had to stop because of the whole name thing and the lawyer said it might pose a problem so we are correcting the names and then we will be back on track.

Very good and congrats on your approval :)

But do fill in your timeline, if you have any further questions on your case, it is not easy to advice on certain things when there is no timeline.
