Hey everyone,

As you can see im pretty new to this so im just looking for some help at the moment.

My fiance and i filled our I-129f application and it was received August 17th and the cheque was also cashed, since then we have heard nothing and are waiting patiently for our NOA2 and interview date.

My question is this;

I have a HUGE file of evidence of our relationship i.e. phone bills, plane tickets, letters and cards and so forth.

When i finally have my interview date what information should i look to take to the actual interview? As i have so much information the file i have really is huge, so could i take the whole thing with me or not?

Thanks

Rhys

While you're waiting on NOA2, you may wish to have a look around the Consulate and UK forums. Lots of good info to be found.

My fiance and I just took proof of relationship that we accured after the NOA2 date. We had yahoo chats, phone bills, and emails. Even though they didn't ask for any of that stuff, we still had it. But each embassey is different.

In general:

If the beneficiary is a UK born citizen, the London embassy only very rarely (and I say that only because I don't want to be absolutist and say never...) asks for relationship evidence. All of that evidence is likely to sit at the bottom of your tote and never see the light on interview day. It'll just give you a sore shoulder carrying it around London, and waste paper/postage. Most people bring it anyway, in a "better safe than sorry" sort of way, but your efforts are much better spent understanding and fulfilling the actual requirements - like getting your I134 and supporting docs, getting your medical worked out, police certificate, etc. These are things which are actually required.

In special cases:

Examine your own case with a critical eye from a 3rd party perspective. London is a low fraud consulate mostly because there isn't as much pressure to try to get here to "make it". Also, the couples frequently have several visits, and we are seriously lacking in red flags. If you feel like you have a special case (ie: the beneficiary is on a temporary visa in the UK and is from a high fraud country), then perhaps reevaluation from the "general" case is necessary.

I agree that it's more important to get the required paperwork right... I had copies of all the forms I'd sent in and extra evidence of relationship (some new photos, phone bills, boarding passes from visits to the US) with me, and I didn't need ANY of it.

Get the paperwork right - birth certificate (long form + copy), police certificate (+ copy) the Affidavit of Support and required evidence (e.g. statement from employer, notarised tax return, pay stubs) and it should be smooth sailing if you're a straightforward case.

Of course, there's no reason not to "rather be safe than sorry" - some interviewees have been asked for extra evidence of relationship... just expect not to need it.
