After being on hold for 30 mins, hubby finally got through to the IRS this afternoon to get his 2008 W2s, transcripts of his 2006 and 2007 tax returns. They informed him that he will get them in the mail in 10-15 business days. Gawd...that's three weeks of waiting!!!

1) I'm under the impression that transcripts are 1-2 page summary? Anyhoo, the IRS are going to send his whole tax returns to him.

2) I'm annoyed at my hubby's lack of record keeping. Isn't there a law or requirement for Americans to keep their tax returns for six years or something?

Anyhoo, I'm just bummed at how slow it is to gather information for the AOS. :-(

The suggestion is that you keep records going back 7 years in case of audit.

Have him call the IRS back and have the transcripts faxed to him.

Also you need to include these....

Petitioner’s Original and Copy of Birth Certificate

Petitioner’s Original and Copy of Marriage Certificate

NVC Case Number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are written on back of both photos...

You can also check the below link...

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Good Luck with the process. Thanks, Raj

hey raj. thanks for the link. however as i was reading the part where you said to include petitioner's bc and mc it says:

Applicants in the following visa categories are required to provide 1) an original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s birth certificate and 2) original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s marriage certificate from the Petitioner’s current and all previous marriages.

Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old (IR-5)

Brothers and sisters of United States citizens (F4)

i am neither the parent or the sibling of the petitioner. i am the spouse. i am on CR1 visa. i don't think i need to like what andrea (and_sam) said :)

.....did i understand it correctly?

Are you asking if you have to send the original birth certificate and Marriage certificate for A CR1 Spouse visa?

original bc and mc of the petitioner to be exact. cos raj said to but after reading the link raj posted i don't think i should? if i understood correctly....also andrea said they're not needed.

Man on the days I work at the hospital I sure do miss alot on VJ!!! I have to catch up every night and read a couple of pages of posting when I get home!!!

And yes, the photo copy of the petitioner's bc and photocopy of marriage license went with the I-130.

The IV package is soley about the beneficiary BUT you include the marriage license *Original* with that one.

You did right Abbie!

whew! finally i just sent my IV package. i have been waiting all afternoon for fedex to come pick it up and they finally came and got my IV package. they said they will ship it off today. will be on its way to china by tonight :) woohoo!

Whoop Whoop!! Abbie!! Case complete Come on down!!!!!:dance:

Anyhoo, I'm just bummed at how slow it is to gather information for the AOS. :-(

I called and requested the past 3 years of my transcripts and I got them in a week...Funny thing about it though, instead of sending one envelope, I got 3 different envelopes with each year...guess they can afford the postage!!:whistle:
