It depends on where you have your interview at. Canada is backed up so I know that they wait for a while to get interviews. Cairo is usually pretty good about giving interviews, but then they don't give you visas immediately. Usually AP/AR happens after the interview there. So I expect to be waiting around for my husband to get his visa.

A little NVC twas the night before Christmas poem I wrote....

Twas the night before Christmas

Here on the VJ

we wait for approvals

Send evidence and Pray

With our family and spouses

far away in thier beds

with dreams of America

fresh in their heads

All of a sudden

there arose such a chatter

I called NVC

to see what was the matter

An RFE? Your joking?

But I did everything right!

Administrative Processing?

Are they doing this for Spite?

So off to the Post office

I flew in a flash

making copies of documents

and shelling out more cash

So we wait for our interviews

with lbs of proof in our hands

We fill out more paperwork

and jump at every command

So this Christmas we hope

with out loved ones to unite

To speedy completions

so we can kiss our family goodnight

Heres hope for everyone to have a speedy Visa Journey!!!

I read an article today where the writer described the CDN/USA border by saying it has no merit. o_O

What do you mean by no merit? Why is Canada have such a backlog for the interviews? That many people are trying to get their visas???

Shazi, I think what they are wanting is a copy of the cover letter that is sent to you after it shows the IV bill has been paid. Just have her print out the whole email and cover letter and take it with her to get her Police Certificate!

There is only one consulate in Canada that does the CR1/IR1 visas as well as all K visas for Eastern Canada. They had a lot of staff quit/leave during the summer. As a result - massive backlog.

I don't see how they have such a hard time filling positions, I mean, it's not exactly hard to get workers right now. I'll never understand it. I'll probably see you in Montreal though Mal
