K-1 document submission process in Guangzhou

What is the process or procedure in Guangzhou, for submitting the documentation and forms when my fiancee' goes for her interview? I read differing details in differing places. I asked yesterday at the citizens hour in the Guangzhou consulate, and was only told that "she would submit her information before being called for her interview". (I could not think fast enough to ask a question specific enough to get a straight answer on the photo albums...)

Are all of these forms and required documentation handed in initially. before the acutal interview? (listed below from the inside cover of the letter to K1/K2 applicants received from Guangzhou)

-Passport & photos

-DS-156

-DS-157

-DS-156K

-GNI-2

-Certification of Legal Capacity and Intent to Marry

-Police certificate

-Birth Certificate

-Unmarried certificate (and divorce certificate)

-NIV application fee receipt

-Evidence of support (I-134)

***-Proof of relationship*** We have phone records, e-mail records, travel documents, my renewed statement that I intend to marry her, photo albums. I was in GUZ yesterday for the citizens hour, and there seems no way to pass photo albums through the interview windows. So, does she submit albums initially, or remove them from the albums? We have a printed photo book, that is useless at the window...

-Proof of residency

-ex-spouse information sheet

Back to the photos... I remember Darnell stating that the photos are returned to us. Should they be removed from the album, and simply in a folder or envelope?

My apologies to everyone if this question is redundant.

The DS-230 part I and the OF-169 is sent BACK to GUZ IV (from the P3 packet ) - suggest to use EMS, track the shipment (also put EMS label inside so they can send you a P4 quickly, you can track P4 shipment also ).

The rest of the documents , in the list, are collected on Interview day. some are collected by a screener worker, others collected by the IO/Conoff.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

re: photos - whatever you put them in - remember -they have to be able to FIT under a window curvy slide slot. I suggest a 20 page (40 pages total ) plastic A4 size portfolio (plastic vinyl font and back, the rest is the plastic clear holding pages. You can fit A LOT of photos into this (I used gluestick on regular letter sized paper (trim A4 paper a bit if you use it ) - put photos on front/back of this paper, with GLUE STICK.

Then this portfolio fits easily through this curvy slot thing on IV day. The IO sees the photos, not the screener.

The I-134 will be reviewed by the IO, as well (sorry for the jumbled replies - this 'edit timeout' is tedious )

As Darnell as already said, your fiancee will go through a pretty quick screening by a Chinese worker before the actual interview takes place at which time the P4 forms, I-134 and supporting documents, and the sealed medical envelope that your fiancee receives at her medical exam are all collected and looked at briefly - they want to make sure that your fiancee actually has everything and that it is indeed filled out before the actual interview takes place.

During the interview the proof of relationship evidence may or may not be asked for by the VO - although they almost always ask to see the photos. My fiancee and I just made several photo albums out of flexible 3 ring binders so that they could easily be passed through the window slot.

this portfolio can be bought at any larger 'copy shop' - students use them, sometimes, when they make copy pages of books. that 'paper insert, is useful when pasting on the photos using gluestick (also at the copy shop ).

We printed 4 digital pics on each page on bond paper with captions underneath each picture. 10 pages total.

Did the same trip with different pics for embassy interview, AOS interview, ROC submittal [No interview] and now did so for the n-400.

Worked so far.

No need worry about getting the pictures back. They can have them.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship
