hi all. hope u can help us. no idea if somebody already posted similar topic. if ever pls bear with us.. if my husband would be a permannent resident here in the philippines would it affect his residency status in US.. ty

Are you talking about filing DCF and proving domicile in the U.S.?

Hi Lissaday! No it wouldn't affect the US citizenship of your USC husband once he applied for a PR here in the PI. My husband is a ACR card holder and has a permanent residency here. That is all about the residency and not citizenship. It is like a privilage for them who married a filipina but you got to apply for it and it is not autimatically obtained after marriage. The lawyer on the BI Manila said that US citizenship is the thing that is hard to achieve and hard to loose in the US. ;)

Yes, it is important to look at his residency or 'domicile' for the I-864, affidavit of support.

You might want to start by reading the instructions on the I-864 regarding domicile then post any questions you might have.
