Just an update...38d ays since they got my I751...still no NOA1

Biometric appointment is day after tomorrow....

Another Update.....Biometrics went off well.....

Ladies please do not wear long or big earrings..they make you take them off..I wore a ( not too long not too big) pair....It seemed ok to me but the lady said the new rules are that I take them off....

Today Dec14th i got my NOA ( after 4 reminders to them)...with the 1 year extension.

Thank you to all who gave me encouragement and advice....

I think the earings are because of the picture. They camera might focus on the brightness "or whatever" and end up darkening your picture...... not sure if this is even near the truth... but glad you posted this tip.

I'm glad you finally got your NOA! Hope you receive your 10 year card soon.

For information in case others are wondering, if you do make an Infopass appointment because you haven't received your NOA extension letter and your green card is about to expire, yes, they do stamp your passport with the I-551 stamp at the time of the appointment. Mine was stamped for a year's extension. The only problem was that I then had to carry my passport with me until I received the 10 year green card. I also travelled outside of the country and back with the passport stamp - no problems. :)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

As long as you don't hear from them requesting a new biometrics, then you should be ok. I am not sure that there is a time frame on these things since they are not part of the normal process.

To my knowledge, there is the FBI process and the USCIS application process that goes on - not sure if they start running at the same time and in parallel or they are addressed when each department gets to them. All I know is that IF the USCIS is done looking into your application and the FBI is not, then they will wait until FBI clearance. However, if they do ask for another bio, then that is normally an indication that you are getting close to hearing their answer.

To answer your original concern, although some people end up going for more than one biometrics, it is not very common. usually, one biometrics is enough unless something weird happens. So you should be OK.

Thank you for the answer..I like the way you very clearly stated facts and didnt repeat yourself....My colleagues wife had her Biometrics done 3 times and another guy I know 4 times...so that made me wonder....
