I really love Neko Case...but I've been disappointed with everything solo since Blacklisted. There are great songs on all of her albums, but I think it's just the overall production of her last couple that bugs me.

Her cover of "Don't Forget Me" is a killer track from Middle Cyclone though.

And I have to say that 2009 was an awesome year, concert wise -- I saw No Doubt & Paramore @ the ACC, and then hit up Edgefest @ Downsview Park a few days later, so I got to see Metric, Alexisonfire, Billy Talent, etc.. etc. What a muddy day that was... but it rocked. :D (I haven't seen many concerts in my life. Oh so sheltered I was up until a few years ago...)

Corrected your spelling of his name.

Anyway, yes, AiC released their first album since Alice in Chains. They recruited a new singer, William Duvall, and have been touring since '06.

My bad, I type faster than I think. Too bad they kept the same name, since it isn't the same band.

Hey, good one! I watch enough movies that I think I can come up with a bottom five too. Okay...all of these are ones I had SOME expectations about...

Wyatt's Torch's Top Disappointments, Movies:

1.) Synecdoche, New York - Just horrible. Even by "art house film" standards.

2.) Taken - I can't believe how many people loved this movie! One of the most ridiculous action films in years, in my opinion...

3.) Rachel Getting Married - I'd been looking forward to seeing this one with my wife (then, wife-to-be) for so long. And was horribly disappointed at all the superficial, vain sniping etc.

4.) Public Enemies - I think my wife summed it up perfectly at the time: "You know there's a problem when even a shootout in a gangster movie is boring."

5.) Valkyrie - I feel a little uneasy admitting that I actually HAD expectations for this film...

Public Enemies was SUCH a disappointment. My fiance and I were so looking forward to it (after having seen previews for it at every single film we saw the the theatre prior to that) and couldn't believe how far off the mark they were.

Taken was intense, for me... I don't know. I've seen it twice and both times it stayed with me for a bit.

Valkyrie definitely didn't make it up on my tops list for anything. Although I had no expectations of the film, I certainly thought there should've been more... something. It didn't strike me as interesting whatsoever.

Yeah I totally agree. I don't really know if the movie was really good or really bad, but it was really intense and emotional. Its one of those movies that you remember regardless.

You know what movie really disappointed me? Extract. I thought it would be Office Space funny, but it was just kinda ok.

I will struggle to come up with a top 5 movies but the Hang Over is my favorite of the year.

I also loved Harry Potter and Grand Torino (might count as 2008).

I have seen a lot of movies but am drawing a blank.

Pearl Jam was my favorite musically. They came out with Backspacer and I caught them 3 times on their tour.

I have become a bit of a TV Junkie though so I do have a top 5 TV shows.

Dexter - Season 4

Entourage - Season 6

The United States of Tara - Season 1

The Good Wife - new show

Criminal Minds (not sure what season but last weeks episode was phenomenial)
