Yes you need a marriage license in the state that you will be married in. In this case California. I think the people above thought that you were asking about something else.

You will need some identification to get the marriage license. Most people use a driver's license, but a passport should be fine.

You have 90 days AFTER YOU GET TO THE USA to get married. NOT 90 days after you get the license.

You must have a CERTIFIED copy of the license to apply for the green card. That usually takes a week or two to get.

This 'CERTIFIED copy of the license' I'll get it US right i don't need to come back to my home country...

from here i gatta take wit me my passport and this certified copy of my birth certificate right?

You will get it in California, because that is where it was issued. Your home country won't even know you are married unless you tell them...

Well, you're not going anywhere without the passport... so yeah, you need that.

You will probably need to have your birth certificate translated if it is not in English. You can do that here, but it would probably be a lot easier and cheaper to do it before you leave.

Anything else she needs from Bulgaria guys?

Thanks a lot :) so do i need to legalize d birth certificate ? or just a translation from an translation agency is ok ? Ohh  all thiss paper work is horrible

Both. A certified copy of your birth certificate AND a formal translation.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

They call it a certified translation. The agency needs to put their stamp on it and "certify" that it is a correct translation. That should be automatic as long as you don't have your "uncle Ivan" translate it for you in his kitchen.
