Greetings from Vietnam everyone,

I got a few questions and was wondering if anyone could help me out?

1. My wife got an xray they told to bring with her when she comes to the US I was wondering what is this for and who do we submit this to?

2. How would we go about obtaining a green card for my wife?

3. What do we need to do to obtain a Social Security Number?

Can anyone help us out? Thank you for your time.

Wish everyone the best of luck with their journey to be reunited with their love ones. av-61161.gif

Welcome to VJ. To expand on payxibka's answer on the xrays, the xray is to check for PTB. There is a slight chance the xrays could be asked for at the POE. I have only read about it happening twice here on VJ so the chance is very small. There is even a smaller chance the xray will be asked for if you are required to Adjust Status. Think of it like the old loitering law where you were required to have money on you to be in a store. Very rarely enforced, but glad you had money on you if it is.

If your wife is entering the US on a K3 visa then she will need to I-485 Adjust Status to get a green card. Follow the guides instructions: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos

If your wife entered the US on a K3 visa she will need an I-765 Employment Authorization Document (EAD) to get a social security number. The fee for the I-765 is included with the fee for the I-485. After your wife receives an EAD in the mail she can go to the social security office to get a SSN.

It can seem confusing at first, but if you read the guides the process is more simple.
