Traveling Home to Canada With Baby for Christmas - HELP!

You know everytime something like this question comes up, I go and have a look at WHTI guidelines etc. Now just in case anyone is thinking, there seems to be conflicting information - well you are not wrong!

There was just an ad on tv here for travel documents required (it was an ad about travelling to see the Olympics from CBP).

So if we look at the info on the page provided by krikit, above, it says this"

U.S. Citizens

Air Travel

All U.S. citizens including children must present a passport or other approved travel document when entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens can present a passport, NEXUS card at airports with NEXUS kiosks, U.S. military ID with travel orders, or a U.S. Merchant Mariner Document when on official business.

If we look at the WHTI information page they mention on that ad I just saw it says this:

Information on the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) for Special Audiences:

Children: Beginning June 1, 2009, U.S. and Canadian citizen children under age 16 arriving by land or sea from contiguous territory may also present an original or copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, a Naturalization Certificate, or a Canadian Citizenship Card.

When you go to this site it gives you the same info for Children regardless of whether you choose the U.S. or Canada as the country of citizenship for the child:

This is not particularly helpful, it just proves it's not us
