I have scraped the Teddy s'more bark from my baking list and instead I am going to make my own chocolates.. I bought the dipping wafers form Michael's.. they actually were on sale for 2 bucks a bag  and then I am going to buy stuff like Rice Krispies, pretzels and dried cranberries etc. to add to the melted chocolate... I bought some inexpensive mini foil liners to make the chocolates in..

Plus you can use the $10 coupon inside the Rice Krispies box to buy board games!! But if you don't want it, I'll take it. lol

I think that is only in Canada though ..

I'm hopefully going to bake 10 kinds of cookies, and I'm going to give some of them as presents for Christmas.

I mean, I only have two couples to give to, so I don't see why not.

I'm hopefully baking:

Shortbread

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Jam Drops

Chocolate Hazelnut Scrolls

Two Tone Biscuits

Lemon Lime Biscuits

Triple Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

Fruity Shorbread Pillows (They're like shortbread filled with jam)

Peanut Butter Cookies

Coffee Kisses

If not, I'll probably narrow it down to 6.

Seriously? Darn! I just assumed Wyatt was talking about using the coupon in the US when we were discussing the high cost of board games over here. bah

Do you have that recipe handy?

The recipe is out of a book but I'll type it out just for you :P

Chocolate Hazelnut Scrolls

Ingredients

2 cups All Purpose Flour

1/2 cup Ground Hazelnuts

100g Unsalted Butter

1/2 cup Sugar

1 egg, Lightly Beaten

2 tbsp Iced Water

1/4 cup Nutella (Or any other chocolate hazelnut spread)

1. Line two baking trays with parchment paper. Place dry ingredients in a food processor and add the butter and sugar. Process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the combined egg and water and process until the mixture forms a dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 30 seconds or util the dough is smooth.

2. Place the dough onto a large sheet of wax or parchment paper and roll out into a rectangle 25 x 35 cm. Trim the edges. Spread the dough evenly with the chocolate hazelnut spread. Using the paper to lift up the dough, roll up from the long side in Swiss-roll style. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 350 F andcut the roll into one 1cm slices, wiping the knife's blade between each cut. Place the slices on the prepared baking trays and bake for 15 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

To be honest, I havn't made these yet. I havn't made anything I mentioned in my last post.

I didn't have baking stuff at my apartment, so this will be new to me too

Disasters happen to the best of the best. I think it's a great learning tool. lol

But, sorry. I hope I'm not coming across as I don't think you know what you're doing. That thought just popped into my head after I read the recipe. That it would be great to take pictures if it turned out to be a disaster. I wasn't meaning you, personally. In fact, my reference point was me.

I totally took no offense what so ever.

I'm just hoping that I retained enough of my basic knowledge to not do something silly like burning them. Harhar.

does anyone have a good recipe? i did find this one and it looks good...

* 1 teaspoon cinnamon

* 1/2 teaspoon salt

* 1 cup thawed and well drained frozen cranberries or fresh cranberries

1. Set oven to 400°F.

2. Line muffin cups with paper baking cups.

3. In a bowl, blend together melted butter and brown sugar using a wooden spoon.

4. Whisk in eggs, one at a time.

5. Stir in vanilla, milk and orange juice.

6. In another bowl, combine the flours, orange peel, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.

7. Make a well in the dry ingredients, and pour in orange juice/milk mixture.

8. Blend JUST until combined.

9. Gently stir in cranberries.

Hey there is nothing wrong with burning stuff :hehe:

Here is a goodie. This stupid stove we have (yes, I am blaming the stove) - instead of the standard dial or digital thing to set it to broil, it has a separate dial to switch between broil and bake.

Well (yes, here it comes) I broiled something a few days ago and apparently forgot to turn it back. 3 burnt on the top not cooked on the bottom items later - I realized this.
