Hi Donna!

I'll be here forever too seeing I have the misfortune of being Canadian and thus, waiting for the Consulate in Montreal to assign us an interview. Goddamn it.

Anyway cookie... glad to hear that you're doing well -- I think you made the absolute right decision for yourself. Really. And DO come back and say hello to all of us and whatnot, you made friends here, not just while you were going through immigration stuff, ya know !

Glad to see you're doing well and coming to terms with the hard decision you had to make...

Contact the county government in the county he lives in (it is usually done at the county level, but it might be at the state level in his state, but the county can get you started). At least here in Washington, they are very helpful about providing information on the procedure.

Donna,

Not sure how it works in his state, but in mine, you basically file a Complaint in Divorce, which is filed at the county courthouse (family law division) and served upon him by either certified mail or by Sheriff.

The rules of procedure for his county may even be online if you Google them. I know the Civil rules for the various courthouses in my state are.

If you need help, let me know.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sorry about the divorce, on the bright side... you haven't sold everything or gave up everything before you found out about his skeleton in the closet.
