Hello. Does anyone know whether it's possible for direct consular filing (DCF) for an IR-1/CR-1 visa from the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Also, if this is the case and it's possible - does anyone know if there are any requirements - such as the petitioner must reside and work within Saudi Arabia? I've e-mailed them (the embassy in Riyadh) this same question, but no one has responded to this. So if you have any information I would appreciate it. Good luck to everyone.

US Embassy, Riyahd

According to the website they accept them but there isn't much detail there.

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, any embassy is going to require that the petitioner is actually staying in the place they're filing if going DCF. That doesn't mean you can't leave after the paperwork is filed.

There is probably a phone number on that site somewhere... I'd just call if I were you.

Good luck!

I know that the Embassy in Algeria is willing to accept my I-130 even though I am not a resident.. I am going there merly for vacation in August for about 3 weeks to file and visit family and then I'm coming home. you do have to actually be physically present in the country... the US citizen is required to be there to do the initial filing, but then they do not have to be there after that. Your spouse will go back, if need be, and then pick up the visa themselves. I think there are a couple other embassies that allow non-residents to file (Australia maybe? I can't remember off the top of my head..). Your best bet is to get in contact with the Embassy... if email doesnt work, call them. keep bugging them until you get an answer :P
