Thought this would be the best place to ask this question as many of us are in the same boat! I want to send a gift back home to someone for Christmas in the form of a prepaid master/visa gift card. I’ve had a look at a few in the stores and online many say for use in the US only! Is there any sites out there that anyone knows of that I can get one that would work in UK/Ireland? I wouldn’t mind just sending one from back home directly instead of getting it here and avoid any currency transfer fees but I can’t really seem to find any that would work?

have you tried amazon uk? I started buying all my gifts for england on there a couple years ago. not sure if you can buy prepaid visa on there or not.

Now that is an idea! I hate trying to get stuff in the stores here it costs 2x as much as the item cost to post it back!

yeah I just buy stuff on amazon uk and the shipping is usually free within the uk. it will also ask if you want to be charged in dollars instead of pounds so you don't get a fee on your credit card or bank for the conversion.

prices for things on amazon already have the vat included. it still turns out waaaay cheaper than mailing.

One thing I do miss about home is the price you see is normally the price you pay! I think I found something on Amazon which is nice I can have it gift wrapped and posted out before Christmas! I need to do this next year I (am sure most of us do) spend a small fortune on postage. It is nice though for sending back some items that can only be found here in the States.
