Yes you must attend a CFO seminar ... either in Manila or Cebu ...

If you do not get the CFO stamp ... you will not be allowed to board your plane for departure ...

1. Yes you must attend the seminar. I am a CR1 too and I had my advance interview last November 26, 2009. My interview will be on December 9, 2009.

2. I had my seminar at:

St. Mary's Integrated Development Foundation. Inc.

Center for Overseas Workers

1043 Aurora Blvd. Cubao,QC.

How to get there:

Fare: 12php

If you are coming from the north, take the bus going to Cubao, then stop at the cubao terminal, I rode Dagupan Liner and stopped at its terminal. Then take the MRT going to Katipunan, exit at the right side, then when you're already outside the station, walk towards the right side, take 10-15 steps (hehe) and you will see the gate of St. Mary's.

Procedure:

1. Register on the logbook (Name and signature) then they will give you a form to answer.

2. Then pay 250php for the seminar.

3. picture taking- the cashier will take a photo of you, using her webcam, so be sure to look nice. (hehe)

4. Proceed to the 2nd floor for the film viewing. Turn right and you will see a big room with sliding doors.

Room is a bit cold but nice..not very cold..hehe..

Ms. Pat is the one who gave us the orientation/briefing. She is very very good, kind and accomodating.

During the seminar, she will give you advices about marriage, on how to be humble and giving in a relationship =)

They will also give you a leaflet about things to bring, prepare on your flight etc. After that, its time for the film

viewing, "Magandang Gabi Bayan by Kabayan Noli de Castro."

5. After that, the counselor will talk about what you have seen, then one on one counselling, they will ask you some questions about your petitioner while checking on the forms that you've signed

a. complete name of petitioner, so be sure to know his middle name

b. petitioner's date of birth

c. date of your first meeting

d. how many times he visited you

6. After that, you will go to the first floor and ask you to photocopy some pages, (forms you signed in), each photocopy costs 3 pesos, but no choice but to do it...hehe...

7. Then go back to the counter again, then they will print out the certificate.

8. Proceed to the CFO, the small building at the back, its on 2nd floor, and you will see a door on the right, just enter and you will see two employees...the first employee her table is located near the door and the other employee a gentleman.

The man will ask for your passport, the 2nd forms that you've filled up and then pay 400 pesos. he will ask you to sign at the bottom of a page of the form. Then he will hand your forms to the other lady in the room. Since, my seminar is advance, I will just go back once I have my visa and get the sticker, which they will put on my passport.

**I arrived at the seminar, 9:30am and finished everything at 12 noon.

From the experience, all the employees are really nice, friendly and efficient.

You will only need:

Maiden Name of the mother of your Fiance/Husband

3 photocopies of your Passport

3 photocopies of your Visa (if available)

and then the fees of 250 pesos

and 400 pesos.

After the interview:if without visa yet. You should have with you the certificates and attendance (colors:blue and green)

WARNING: YOU WILL NEED TO ATTEND THE SEMINAR.IT IS MANDATORY.

For me, the seminar was indeed helpful as it tackled different issues faced by filipinas abroad, not only filipinas but people who are new in a certain country and one is culture shock. So the seminar in a way, told us what to expect when arriving in a foreign country.

Oh..I don't know the answer for that Ronalyn...but based from my judgment...and if I will be on your shoes..I just go ahead and pay the 400php, anyway...the certificate from the seminar does not have expiration and whether we like it or we like or not (hehe) once your son's visa is available you will still pay...para ba makaawas na sa mga expenses..hehe..

Yes you can attend the seminar before you have the visa. You must then go back and have the visa stamped. If you do not have the stamp....you will not be allowed to board the plane.

See here:
